Got a run with 2 x F430...

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here, even though I have been a member for 10 months now...
and also a very happy C63 owner for the same amount of time :-).

I have to thank this board as I think it is the most "alive" and full of informations i have found in the web (in a language i can understand...).
You are also one of the main reason I bought this "automobile".

I just wanted to share how surprised I was, being able to pull away from a F430 (my most venerated car...)!
In fact I got a run with 2 x F430 (scuderia and spider).

The first was a F430 scuderia (I could tell with the "high pipes" and the incredible noise it made 200 meters behing me and 200 meters in front of me!)
I was almost sleeping, driving around the limited speed (130km/h), when I saw him coming very very fast in my mirror. It was a german car with 1 guy inside.
I let him pass and decided to wake me up by following a worthy competitor :-)
We made several runs from around 100km/h and up to 250km/h.
Regularly forced to slow down because of the traffic.
I was very surprised to see that, even though he was pulling away from me, it was very very slowly. In fact, during approximatly 15mn we played togother and I can assure you he was also very surprised not beeing able to really loose me. He gave my a thumb up at the end, just before an heavy puring rain started. He then slowed down to 90km/h and I stopped for gas.
I was sad to loose this "friend"...
WHAT A NOISE, this Scuderia, just insane, i adore it

After filling the tank I was again "sleeping" at 140Km/h.
When I saw what? another F430 , this time a spider with a young guy and his girlfriend...
He was also arriving behing me very very fast.
But he had to slow down due to some traffic (trucks at 90 km/h).
I decided not to let him pass this time and to have fun in front of him.
I got from C mode to S mode and floor it as soon as the traffic vanished.
The first time, he was surprised, i think, and accelerated but I was really pulling far away.
Again some traffic, both down to 100 km/h. Me, always in front of him,
this time we floored it at the same time, i could tell but (!) I was again slowly pulling away from him!!
And we did it again and again and again during 20mn and up to 250km/h several times.
Me in front of him, and then him in front of me :
Every time I was quicker, pulling away or closing to his butt...
Even the limited speed at 250 did not bother me as he was never able to go really quicker due to the moderate traffic.

Conclusion, AMG did not mess with us, we really have a beast under our hood and so much power/torque that we can play with an icone like the F430!
Of course, on an almost straight line, on the "autoroute"
I am not fool enough to even think this would happen on a track...

I was in my C63 (stock) with some luggage in the trunck,
on a french autoroute in july 09, in S mode.

I'm glad your 100+ MPH race in moderate traffic didn't end in you plowing into a family of 5 just so you can see if you are faster than an F430.

Keep it on the track or at least on empty roads people...

No mods at all. I just have the LSD option (no perf package).
It was on the A6, one of the main autoroute in France that links Paris to Lyon.
This is were all the traffic from north of Europe goes to the south and vis et versa...Almost 500km long with numerous straight lines and some radars .

I was joking of course by saying I was almost sleeping but it is very difficult to stay concentrated on a road like that when you are only doing 130Km/h.
Here, we envy our german neighbours with their free speed autobahns...

Of course, traffic was light with 3 lines, that is why I "played" a little.
I really don't think we drived like fools.

I know, and I would not have done it with more traffic.
I want to see my little girl grow

Again, Germany has free speed autobahns with very few accidents.
In France we have very good roads that could be eligible to free speed.
I think it is possible to drive quickly (>180km/h) in total safety on those roads,
if you stay concentrated and focused on the road, aware of your limits and of those of the others.
But let's not get in that debate...

Well I guess you have never been to Europe so you dont know and 100mph or 160 k is really nothing on the German autobahn. The drivers are better trained and its not a give me like in the states and passing is only allowed on the left lane to where in the states its a little more out of hand. I am from New York myself but have over 25 years driving experience in Europe due to being in the military over here.

Grandpa? Listen rice boy. I'm glad daddy bought you a fast car. When you go to jail for 10 years for vehicular manslaughter and have to live with the fact that you ended the lives of innocent people because you decided to race in traffic maybe then you will get it. Hopefully not though, hopefully someone like you runs off the road and crashes head on into a telephone pole at 100 MPH. The world will be a better place then.

You wanna race, go to the track or an empty road. Dont race in traffic you moron. Go jerk off to the fast and the furious a few more times idiot.

I have to agree with Propain on this one (surprised he didn't call anyone a douche this time), in the States, we should keep it safe.

Conclusion, AMG did not mess with us, we really have a beast under our hood and so much power/torque that we can play with an icone like the F430!
Yeah they did. AMG did give us a detuned model.

BTW-Welcome to the forum.

I don't care what you had or have. You were the one with the insult about the chrome. Another moron gets what he deserves and then asks for me to get banned. This forum is comical.

I have 2 kids. If you have kids as you claim you should understand where im coming from. Sadly you dont. In the same paragraph you state "lern some respect and responsibility" Yet your the rice boy racing in traffic.

You are either to stupid to comprehend what im saying or you figured "This is my moment to look cool on the MB forum" Either one makes you a twit.

Let me know when you need a drive by to spruce up your POS. Im available on evenings and weekends.

I think most people here are old enough to make their own decisions and know the risks and consequences of their actions. Most forums that involve high performance cars wil have racing stories. I believe if you don't like it then don't read it or post about it.

Anyway nice runs man. Win or lose if I bumped into 1 I would definetly go at it but knowing your results I know I have a good chance myself .

Very nice, i have heard before that we are not much slower than an F430 and this totally proves it. I would love to get a race against one now that i have my tune and see how close i can stay!

I have to say, the roads are fantastic in France (and most all of Europe.) Well maintained and overall much safer than here, imho. Our roads (and our drivers) are pretty embarrassing.

Aside from that, don't let the C63 forum end up like the BMW forums. Hopefully it won't get as juvenile here. Let people post their opinions and if you disagree then try to respond constructively.

we really need to get back to talking about cars instead of educating others.

Now to the OP I think the F430 isn't trying its best cause i am pretty sure a stock F430 will pull on a stock C63 hard.

Not really...

A Ferrari F430 Spider with F1 Superfast Gearbox does 0-60mph in 4.0sec ± .1sec, and, like I said, that's with the paddle shifters.

I'm not completely sure how it would perform in the speed ranges the OP was in, but I would imagine the F430 Spider and a stock C63 would be fairly even, it could really go one way or the other and I guess it went in favor of the C63 in the OP's case.

I love watching people make complete fools of themselves, and this is a great case of it right here. propain you are a complete idiot and some other things that are too explicative to use around old people like yourself. You call everyone on here a kid, but yet you don't know their ages, do you? Also you call everyone that you think is a kid, which is everyone who doesn't agree with you and your tacky Advanced Auto Parts chrome* bits, "rice boy", "kiddies", or something to that effect. For one, learn some new derogatory phrases and words. Using the same diction, or titling someone the same thing over and over again makes it look like you aren't smart enough to think of anything else, which is probably the case with you, so I don't know why I'm wasting my time.

Secondly, just because you think some people on this forum might be younger than you, that by no means makes you better or smarter than they are. Actually, you prove this every time you post. There are very few "kids" in the world that have a C63. VERY FEW. And by kids, I mean people that are ≤ 25 years old. I'm 29 years old, so go for it and call me a "kid" or "rice boy" all you want, fact of the matter is I'm ALOT smarter than you are, obviously, and I make more money in a year than you have ever made, or WILL ever make in your entire life.

And lastly, since this forum is SO horendous, and because everyone on this forum is a "moron", "rice boy", or "kid", why don't you leave? Actually, PLEASE LEAVE. Because the forum "would be a better place then."

Oh, and just a quick little tidbit of information for you:
Did you notice how I put an asterisk next to the word "chrome", when I was talking about the, for the lack of a better word, ***** that you put on your car? Well... It happens that my family owns a large portion of a multi-state automobile dealer franchise, dealers included are Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Maybach, and Mercedes-Benz, just to name a few of the good ones. So anyway, I called the Service/Parts Manager at the most reputable Mercedes dealer I know of, which happens to be owned by my family, and asked him what materials the "chrome package" parts are made from. Ironically, he said that there is no such thing as a "chrome package" and that most of the chrome trim pieces that are genuine Mercedes-Benz accessories are "chrome-dipped" ABS or similar plastic.

NOW THAT'S CLASSY!!!

I also believe you said in your thread of yours you said that carbon fiber made the car look cheap. The funny thing is, genuine carbon fiber pieces for the interior and exterior of not only the C63, but pretty much all high-end cars out there, cost much much more than your plasti-chrome parts. Genuine carbon fiber or carbon composites are extremely overated though. That's why they're used in everything from the space shuttle, to large-passenger airplanes, to an F1 car and it's chassis. While it is used alot in the "tuner" and racing world, some uses being better and more attractive than others, most of the time it is to decrease weight. The same can't be said for chrome. Or in your case, most likely, plasti-chrome.
