Bought my '09 a few weeks ago (only 14K miles) and after shutting it off tonight, heard the beeping noise. Did anyone ever determine what it is that is making the noise? I recorded the noise but don't know how to upload it here. The noise appears to be loudest around the oil cap area and comes and goes, no specific timing.
I wish my car was a transformer but it doesn't talk to me like I think it should.
Thoughts?

Yep me too.......! Took a while to trace it as it was so quiet but closest I could figure was around the ABS unit, couldn't do much about it so drove the car anyway, figured if it was anything meaningful MBAMG would have installed a Klaxon.Originally Posted by m a x i m u s

Has not returned, hope it wasn't the pet Gerbil hiding under the bonnet........

I hear it every now and then as well, but only when I have the key on me. With no key (and I do not have keyless go either), there is no noise.
It sounds like a relay of sorts (initial click), then a slight buzzing for half a second, then stops. I typically don't notice it except when I detail my car as the key is usually on me.
My best guess, some sort of precheck or diagnostic mechanism when the vehicle is expecting a driver based on key proximity.

If the key is on you the car may detect the key and prime the injectors or fuel pump making a bzzzzt noise... because it thinks you want to start the car.

jvanbrecth - the noise I hear doesn't sound like what you are describing but rather sounds like a heart beat monitor machine at the hospital with a slow "beeeeep" every so often.
My '09 doesn't have keyless and the key was in the house. I've been around the car a number of times, while it's been shut off, since I bought it that I would think I'd have heard the noise previously. I sent the recording to the SA so we'll see what MB says.

Mine just started happening last friday. Been this way only when I get home. And continues to beep the whole day.

It is anything like the noises in these videos?
I've recently bought a C63 and went to my garage this evening to find it making a strange noise...
