Water damage question re: tinting
When you get your windows tinted I know they use a lot of water.
My question is when doing the side windows all that water drips down into the door wells and there are a lot of electronics in there. Is there a danger of shorting when this happens? Can all this water damage the car?
Regarding the car's rear window where does all the water go since there are no wells for it to drip into? Additionally there is an automatic rear sun shade back there which probably shouldn't get drenched by water either. How do tinters handle this?
Thanks

Not sure what electronics are in our doors other than the locks and window regulators. Car doors are designed with the occasional water ingestion in mind because they have weep holes in the bottom.

Thanks for the info guys.
How do you guys clean windows with tint. I heard you can't use ammonia based products like Windex. Is this true?

Don't use Windex. It's crap. Meguiar's is ok, I've tried it in the past, but was still a bit streaky. These two are currently in my arsenal.

No ammonia on ceramic. I recommend the Invisable Glass aerosol spray. All of the door electronics are properly weather sealed. I confirmed this with FJ on Sahara.

Have the tint done at a reputable tinter..
I heard what they do if there is any problem with electronics, especially after doing the rear window is to leave the car under the sun for a couple of hours and it will evaporate all the water that went down there..
Don't use ammonia based windows cleaner because it will take off the adhesive on the tint.. that is what they use to remove the tints.
I also use Stoner's Invisible glass and it works great.
