MHP Long Tubes 44rwhp over Kleemann Headers
The Kleeman obviously works as Howard has proved but there is a little more to be had with the MHP tune. Depends on your budget and long term desires.

But when you say loud are you saying..... major resonance in the cabin, at what rpm? I mean the kind of resonance/drone that makes your eardrums, fillings, sinuses and small pieces of trim in the car all VIIIBRATTTEEEE. The kind that gives you a major headache after 20 mins?
OR, is it mostly loud outside the car?Grazie for posting!
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
There is a "Dyno mode" that can be accessed via the "OK" and "receive call" button on the steering wheel. It disables the electronic nannies.
Put the transmission in manual mode
Great numbers by the way
I don't mean to hijack the thread or anything. Hopefully this might help other members that are having trouble dynoing their Benz. I know how to enable "dyno mode." I've got K&N filters, complete Supersprint exhaust system, and TTP software upgrade with tuning on my 2005 SLK350. The numbers have varied greatly and the highest ones were somewhat disappointing. The shop normally works with Porsches but they're not very familiar with the Mercedes 7spd auto. I'm not a tech or anything-could someone explain or PM me the steps in dynoing in manual mode? I sent out emails to other shops to see what they said:
Testing these cars on a dyno requires experience. Once can not just floor the throttle on the dyno, otherwise the transmission will always down shift (on non-AMG cars that don't have manual mode). You must "roll" into the throttle- it takes a lot of practice to produce a smooth dyno curve- that's about the best I can tell you, unfortunately. It's not really something I can describe easily.
-Cory @ Kleemann (manual mode wasn't mentioned?)
Thank you for your inquiry. We have similar problem with trying to dyno Mercedes and some european cars. Therefore, we no longer offer dyno pulls on some of these vehicles.
-Mike @ shop's name withheld (has Dyno Dynamics AWD)
We dyno in manual mode and set our smoothing high to remove any spikes, Sir. Most people set the smoothing low to enhance the dyno results.
-Larry @ Macedo Motorsports (most helpful advice-as posted in this thread)
With the Kleeman K2, did that elminate any of the cats? Or did it just replace the primaries with high flow ones?
I just had my MHP headers installed last weekend using 300cel cats and it is still incredibly loud. I'm trying to figure out a way to tone it down some so I don't attract everyones attention. MHP suggests bumping up to 500 cel cats which I will probably do, but I'm not sure if that is going to be enough to bring the sound a little closer to stock. I don't mind a modest increase in sound over stock, but this is a little too much for me lol.
I find it hard to believe it can be any louder than it is now, but I guess you guys running catless would say otherwise!
