MHP Long Tubes 44rwhp over Kleemann Headers

MHP long tubes (catless) were installed last week in place of the Kleemann headers. The gains are solid and spread across the entire powerband. The car still has the Kleemann tune which has reacted very well to the new pipes with no drivablity issues and NO CEL! Dyno's were done one day apart same time of day with 95 degree temp and 40% humidity. The K2 package had pulled a 432 on this dyno in better air but pulled a 413 this time. Keith's MKB package was down quite a bit from winter numbers on this same dyno. With the MHP LT's we pulled 457 and I am very curious to dyno again later in the year and see what the real numbers may be. Keith's package with MHP tune and pipes is still about 10- 15 stronger than mine but I am very pleased with the results. Track times will have to wait until late this year, no point at all this time of year. Street driving is transformed almost to the same degree that the K2 install provided but it is LOUD...timid souls should consider including cats!

As you can see the LT's include 3" pipe all the way back to the resonator.

WHAT DID YOU SAY!!!! I CAN"T HEAR YOU!!

Seriously, CONGRATS!! These things are awesome and do generate a tremendous amount of power! However, they are LOUD and if you are weak at heart then order the cats! They scare other drivers and large animals. Hey, thats the fun in having them.

Be safe and have fun racing!

Can't wait for cooler weather so we can see what they are worth in the 1/4. This Florida weather is NOT condusive to racing in the summer.

Wow amazing pickup on power! With that being said you stated the Kleemann pulled 432rwhp on better conditions, doesn't that mean that this new setup has more power to make once it gets cooler and air quality is better. Do you plan to take it back to the strip?

The headers look good. It is very hard to believe that there was that kind of increase in power with just changing the headers but I guess you never know. Were you using cats with the Kleemann headers and took them off with the new headers? I have never seen headers make such a difference on a basically stock car.

I thought the Kleemann K2 was supposed to net 440 hp at the wheels.

What else do you have other than the Kleemann ECU and MHP headers?

So would the best option be K1 + MHP headers or MHP ECU/TCU + MHP headers?

Several questions pending I'll try my best to answer them

The K2 package best pull was 432 in March and the car ran a 11.999 at 117mph with street tires on a semi decently prepped track. I have not seen anyone post a 440 K2 pull but it may have happened.

Keith and I use the same dyno and he pulled much lower numbers as well compared to winter climate. His gains were high also simply by replacing the shorties with the MHP LT's. Improvements over the OEM manifolds should be really profound!

Winter climate here in Florida may yield anything from 10-30 more rwhp but we won't know until later.

These pipes work great with the Kleemann tune if you already have it but Keith's numbers with the MHP tune are a bit higher. This is definitely a more expensive route, check the MHP site for current pricing just depends on what your goals are.

This is a true bolt on setup from block to resonator and accomplishes a rear cat delete in the process. Because it is sectional cats can be included just behind the collectors.

I will be selling the Kleemann setup at a reasonable price....more info will follow in the classifieds

Holy Torque Plateau Batman! Peak torque from roughly 3200-5400, that's impressive to say the least. Although considering everything was deleted, and its a 6.3L I'm not surprised it made amazing power. Hats off to MHP.

On a side note, I wonder what happened to the A/Fs at 6600rpm, thats an odd spike. It may just be a one time fluke but it appears you may be able to pick up some more power if you lean out the mixture a bit, its getting down into the 11's which is pretty rich for an NA car. still, very impressive.

That spike at ~6500 rpm occured in the HP and TQ curves when the a/f jumped from 12-13. Identical pattern in all three pulls done that day and peak numbers were within +/- 3. A leaner tune at 12.8 to 13 would probably provide some significant gains without any detonation issues. I believe Kleemann is conservative just in case someone tunes their car and then decides premium is too expensive.

Nice numbers, there's probably no CEL because K2 Tune deletes the CEL from the ECU for their header setup as well.

Not being a jerk but you will need to check their website. I am trying to share my experience with mods that I have installed and avoid "promoting" a non sponser hence no details links etc. I am thrilled however that the Kleemann tune which many members have is receptive to long tube headers regardless of origin.

I understand that you do not wish to say how much you paid for your tune, However, the MHP website is a little confusing. Do you have the AMG C63 ECU /TCU Stage 1 v3 for $XXXX.XX, or the C63 AMG MHP Stage 1 v2 ECU/TCU Tuning for $XXXX.XX. Are the LT headers extra in addition to either of these tunes? Thanks.

Headers are not part of the price of any tune and typically cost quite a bit more than the programing. Kleemann headers are ~$2500

Not to sway the topic, but you're best bet is to contact MHP directly. I don't believe their website reflects current pricing, or even the pricing for the headers. But what bigbodybeeenz posted is pretty close to what I paid for mine, however I also went with 300cpi high flow cats which adds a bit to the cost.

But back on topic, those gains are awesome hhughes! I didn't realize you were getting the long tubes, and I'm very happy to see they work well with your Kleeman tune! I've had mine sitting in the garage for nearly 2 months now, just been so busy/out of town all the time I havn't had a chance to get them installed. Next week for sure though And then I'm hitting the track!

Like others have mentioned...I can't wait to see you and Dads_C63 run side by side at the track, should be a very good race.
