I witnessed an E55 on the freeway, running from the cops. They were both up near 130mph and the guy in the 55 hit the brakes at the last minute and made the off ramp. The cop didn't stand a chance and blew the exit.
So, hp is just important as stopping power... beautiful

If the cop was so far back that he couldn't capture the license number with his onboard camera, it's hard to believe he couldn't make the same exit in a tail chase.
OTOH, if he did capture it, the driver is still toast anyway when they track him down.
Or maybe onboard cameras aren't used up in Canada?

I was thinking....I had heard all of the crazy, dumb, nit-wit stuff in my life. Here again, I am proven wrong.
Someone actually asked can they outrun the police? Jail, an a$$-kicking, revoke of license, shot at or getting shot. None of those sound appealing.
My father always told me, "never run from the police, they will catch you 9 times out of 10." If they catch you after a chase, an a$$ kicking is coming with it."
Some interesting responses nonetheless.

Now, for a touch of reality, last fall when we ran drags at Morrocco IN , a cop in a Chevy Cop Car (Malibu or Impala??) came up and ran a 16.3 at about 88 MPH. We all just laughed as we were running in the 10s, 11s and 12s. Yes, he had a light bar. He backed it up with another low 16 run, so they are not all that quick. His radio wave is about 300 million meters per second, so unless you can outrun light, might as well take your licking and pull over.

That Video would be much funnier if it didn't have the caption "Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up", and you didn't have to sit through a 30 Second commercial.
Youtube kind of botched that attempt at allowing someone to be Rick Rolled, lol.

San Bernardino County has a training track for law enforcement and it basically a 1.5 mi that some of the So Cal clubs use to use for DE events. We encountered the sheriff chief instructor one Saturday and after some friendly banter, he challenged us to see if we could get away from the law. He knew the track well as he should but I put a hundred yards on him in a 944 turbo. He was honest and said most chases end when the preps crash out but I would have got away. He said the problem on the street is at .8gs your going to crash due to the curbs and crowned roads. On the open hiway pretty hard to hide and your not going to out run the radio. So unless I'm driving the General Lee, I'll pull over. I remember when Rodney King didn't pull over..

I've outrun highway patrol in an SRT8 before...in my B6 A4 wagon. 75 MPH speed limit on I-25 here on Colorado. I'm returning from taking my cousin to the airport, accelerating in the left lane right after the guy in front of me pulled to the right lane. I pass a state trooper sitting in the median going roughly 120- I barely caught him out of the corner of my eye as I passed. I see him flip his lights on, so I just pull over, knowing I've been had. I wait, and wait, and wait. Nothing. I then realize that the state trooper passed me as I was sitting on the shoulder at the exact moment a semi passed me in the right lane. He didn't even see me sitting there waiting for him. I calmly pull out into traffic, and as I crest a hill, I see the trooper sitting on the shoulder at the bottom of the on-ramp of the exit I'm approaching with his lights on. I'm no idiot- I take the exit, and proceed home the "long" way (took an hour and a half as opposed to the 20 min it would have taken on the highway). OK, so I was just lucky.

Ok so you are driving back from the bar one night and a cop flicks his lights on. Your thinking oh my god im going to jail. But who cares. Have a little fun! Pull your car over. Put it in park. Take of your seat belt and jump over to the passenger side. Buckle up the seat belt and just sit there. (This will throw the cop off like non other) Ok so now the cop is walking toward the car and taps on the window. You sit there waiving thinking you didnt do anything wrong. But you really did. He says, where'd he go. You say I dunno. Cop asks "where you driving this vehicle here". You say "me". Ah hell no im all f'd up. Most likely he will laugh and throw your butt in jail. Where i live cops dont know what crime is.

I'll throw in my "can't belive it" story.
Driving south of San Jose on Monterey Highway, 55MPH speed limit and I am going 70mph, 9:30pm. Some guy in a sport utility is in the left lane doing 55 so I pass on the right. Well, that sherif in the suv pulled me over.
Turn off the engine, roll down the windows, turn on the interior light, fess up, and be polite.
I got a warning.
Remember, be polite. Respect gets respect.
