Anyone running 245/40/18 F and 275/35/18 R?

I will be shopping for new tires soon and was wondering if the above fitment is okay with the c63. I know many people are running 235 F and 265 R but how would a +10 mm for front and rear fit?

LP560-4:

That is exactly what I am running 245x40x18 in the front and 275x35x18 in the rear. I purchased them in Toyo T1R's and am extremely happy!

There is no rubbing and the grip is nite and day over the stock sized Pirelli's.

They fill out the wheel wells but like I said in over 5000 miles not one instance of rubbing period!!!

If you'd like, PM me and I'll send a couple of Pic's

Regards

Phil

not with 275, i had a bmw 545i that came stock with the same size rims that the c63 has and 275 in rear never had a problem now with the c63 i run the same set up and never had a problem or never heard of someone having a problem.

tire life depends how you drive, if you drive like me then you will need a pair of gt champiro they 100 a piece. i have about 7k on mine with alot of burnouts and 360's and still have 1/2 life.

i had conti's and other tires which lasted me 3-4k some even under 3k.

as far as preformance goes you will need mickey toms (best drag tire) or nitto's nt01. (best autocross tire i think)

The 275 should be perfect for the 9" wide rims. I wouldn't go any wider though. The person that complained about changing lanes and flexing is exagerating. Whith such low profile(35) there is not much room for flexing.

There are tires with "different shapes" some are more "square" than others and some are more "rounded". BMW uses 255 on 8.5" rims(BMW 335is) we use 255's and we have 9" rims..

Don't forget BF goodrich street drag radial T/A and T/A II. These are the pioneers of street drag radials. I shaved 6 tenths of a second on my 335i in the 1/4 mile.

Check specs on most summer tires and compare the weight difference between 265"s and 275's. For some tires it is as much as 4-5 pounds while 265's are almost always within a pound of the 255's. I just mounted Dunlop Z1's 245/40 and 265/35 on a set of wheels for road racing(Roebling Road next weekend!) and they fill out the wheel wells nicely.

I'm sure he worked that out some 12 years before now.

I'm running 265/35/18 on Michelin Pilot AS4. They are a very wide tire to begin with it. Much better treadwear than the super sports. As good of traction, not quite, but good enough and it still hooks in launch mode with the Renntech tune enabled.
