Well, like I said, I spoke the the man in charge Phillip at Jonari (WALD USA), and he said that it seems that one of *his* sales guys might be mistaken in sending that info, the *official word* was WALD does not make a grill, any grill for that matter. The E-bay grills are all that exist at the moment, and they are for C300/350, NOT C63. I will be picking one up today from the supplier on E-bay to see what needs to be changed/altered. If too much, I *considering* making a single fin grill under our own brand name specifically fore the C63.

I will pick up the grill today, from that point, I can make some assessments. If it goes as I expect, (major mods to make work) I will need to start to formulate what it's going to take to build a C63 production grill. I am playing with different ideas in terms of style, contruction materials, size of OEM star, and potential # of units I need to sell to break even vs the mold costs. Any suggestions? I'm open to listening.

Brian: Please mold it in black like OEM. Don't want to deal with paint flaking off.

That's a very valid point, how do you guys feel about it being made out of dry carbon fiber?

Hmm, I have an issue with Carbon fiber, because my car is blacked out but on a white car... the carbon will make my car look weird because I dont have any other carbon parts on my car....

But if you make the Chrome all black already saves me a paint job... and it wont chip like my grill... which i had to repaint several times

I really want one similar to the eBay style. If you would be so kind to "modify" the eBay grill to make it fit the C63 please have me #1 on your list of buyers.

OK guys the grill was picked up today, but we had a very hectic day with Dyno's and other things (see our stock vs Renntech stage 3 thread). We will start the fitment process tomorrow and report our findings.

I saw a C (not sure if it was 300 or amg) in central jersey with that grill and it caught my eye. It indeed is uber-cool!

Ok, quick update. The grill is NOT molded black, it is painted black, and just eye balling it, it will not fit, but we are going into teardown mode this afternoon and let you guys know what this E-bay grill looks like and it's fitment issues, and weather it's worth trying to make work, or if we have to start from scratch. Keep an eye out for my post today.

Today's progress on the grill and my findings:

First and foremost, I will NOT sell this grill (at least the one I found off E-Bay)

Here are my conclusions:

1. The OEM star is far too large for this car
2. The grill is definitive taller than a C63 grill
3. This grill is NOT molded black, it's Grey molded, black painted
4. This seems to be the same box that I saw shown by the OP, not sure what to make of that.
5. The molded mesh does NOT match the C63, it's cross mesh vs half moon circular
6. No mounting tabs at the top of the grill
7. The grill angle is different

Here are a few pics of enlightenment.

pic of the box, if you look at the grill box of the OP, it is the EXACT box with most of the markings cut off. I think the OP needs to find out what the F he got sold for $400.00
