Brian, put me down for one of your grilles, too. I ordered the same one off of eBay and not only is it too tall, it's also too narrow by probably 7mm. I agree that the center star is too large, but not really by much. Maybe somewhere between what comes with the ebay grille and the stock grille if there's a MB emblem that fits that range, otherwise bigger is better. Definitely mold it in black as others have said, and keep some kind of mesh behind the star. As far as the main mesh, I'm not attached to any particular style. Also, definitely keep it one piece if possible. I like the lack of cutline at the sides. It just looks cleaner.

My $.02

Thanks, and I know you'll sell all you can make if you do choose to make them!

Josh

I wonder if it would look good using the stock star? The size of the other star reminds me of that stupid clock that Flavor Fav hangs round his little gooseneck.

ROFLMAO!!! Are you sure you don't want a big MBZ star that can double for your car and to hang on your gold chain?? Tell me what you're really thinking!

But seriously folks, here is how this boils down. The E-Bay grill in my eyes is a TOTAL no go. I feel that we can design something that will not only serve the single fin grill crowd, but will also capture the OEM design *essence* becuase in my eyes the grill needs to exhume the natural lines and elements with proper proportions etc. to stay true to the AMG lineage. The bottom line, is I will embark on this journey if I can get commitments from people to buy it, as there will be some big up front costs for me to go down this road. Can we start another thread to get people *signed up*? If we can get enough signed up, it will give me the nessesary confidence that this will be a win-win situation. What do you guys think??

Sounds good...of course it comes down to pricing as everyone will agree. You are absolutely correct about proportions and keeping the design essence as the Ebay one looks a little strange on OP's car when looking from his side angle shots. His frontal shots looks good, though the star is a little too big IMO.

Let's start a new thread.

Ok guys we'll start a new *interested in C63 single fin grill* thread, where would be most convenient? Here or in the GB section? or should we do it in the GB section with a link here?

No offense to Brian GT Pro.... Just an idea coz couple of guys did this before.... I know the brabus grill is expensive but why dont we all cheap in and buy the original one and send it to Taiwan or who ever makes CF here in the US to copy it so we all can have it in a cheaper price. Then put the original one on ebay and share the profit. Thats just my 0.2 cents.

No offense taken I am open to all ideas. What does everyone else think?? Because the Brabus grill is a 2 fin design with no Star, is that what you guys would want??

I'm interested only if it looks like the factory could have done it...I suspect the "triple black crowd" wants something entirely different from those like me, who maybe will do a tune and wheels but not touch the body.

I concur, I like the SL style... perhaps make the star a bit smaller. As I mentioned, I had the grill on (even though it didn't fit well) for a moment, and it looked really HOT!

Brian, if you do choose to make the grill you should use the semicircular mesh so it matches with the lower grills.

The center star will be the C63 star. The mesh, I want to re create the circular mesh, I think it looks better and matches the C63.
