To many doughnuts will due that.
I have to take mine in for a Service 20, but ohwell hope it will not take days we will find out. All seems ok and car shifts fine so I feel just a filter will do. I hope hehe

heheh yes live and learn, I will not do that until I retire my car and change it over for street legal DTM style car with all the upgrades. CF is in the works now to remove the "skin" and replace it. Need family car so might have to get the E63 when it comes out but really want the SL65BS. but I need the seats

I am also waiting for that vid bro. You are always the lifesaver with your how-to videos... Do you know what are the expected gains (if any) by removing the charcoal filters?

You really don't need a video to do this. Here:
1) Remove the center section (with MB star) by lifting it up carefully.
2) Remove the T25 screws on each airbox.
3) Unscrew the hose clamp on each rubber tube.
4) Lift and pull airbox top out.
5) Turn over and remove charcoal filter.
6) Reassemble.
Assembly tip: When screwing the tops back on, I would insert the screw and turn it (with your fingers) counter-clockwise till I feel it "click" and then turn it clockwise to start the screw. Then use your screwdriver. If you do it this way, you will not re-tap the plastic and possibly cause problems in screwing the box tops down in the future.

The sides need a good tug. Grab it @ where they meet the airbox. Be sure your finger is unerneath the panel to assist. This is the only hard part of the entire process. The first time I did it, I was also afraid. If you want to make it easier next time, put some grease on the metal clips.

As a matter of fact, my hood is up right now. I hope somone will make some nice vent grills that can be grafted onto the hood.

It's really not all that difficult, pull the front Mercedes star cover off with some force. Remove the 4 or 5 torx screws on each side (just look for them they are in clear site) and lift up the intake box. You will see a paper air filter and a cardboard box charcoal filter. Remove it and put everything back together. Probably takes a whole 20 minutes if you take your time.
