Deleting All 4 CATS from C63
I was wondering if anyone has done this yet?
Do you get HP or torque gains?
Do i have to remove the resonator to remove all 4 cats?
How would it sound with the 4 ctas gone?

I would be extremely concerns about my AFRs. It would be loud as hell but you would comprose some power by altering the AFR readings from the o2 sensors. I never done it but you could either run extremely lean or the otherway around too rich.
Removing the cats can fool the ECU to richen the AFRs thus making less power.

I would suggest removing the resonator and 2 secondary cats. I’m positive you'll be satisfied with the results. AND you won’t throw a single code/mess with the cars computer plus still gain double digit hp gains

C63 AMG Arctic w/ Stage 1 Tune, DoubleXX pipe, MCD-631X coming soon
I have a prototype Arqray exhaust coming in from Japan for testing, so we shall see what *might* or might not be possible here. Since I have a DynoJet dyno, trust me..I will document ALL things I find good or bad.

i have no resonators or 2nd cats and there are no gains. if you take out the 2nd cats you gain 5-7 rw and you lose from taking your resonators out, but it very very loud. soon m cat will have no cats and will install the resonator back in.

The only true way to know is to contain all the variables as best as possible by using the same car, same dyno and same conditions. A good baseline stock, then the mods get done that same day, a few miles on the dyno or street to get some of the adaption done by the ECU, then strap back on the dyno to test. Anyone want to try? my dyno is raring to go LOL!

A catalytic converter (colloquially, "cat" or "catcon") is a device used to reduce the toxicity of emissions from an internal combustion engine. First widely introduced on series-production automobiles in the U.S. market for the 1975 model year to comply with tightening EPA regulations on auto exhaust, catalytic converters are still most commonly used in motor vehicle exhaust systems. Catalytic converters are also used on generator sets, forklifts, mining equipment, trucks, buses, trains, and other engine-equipped machines. A catalytic converter provides an environment for a chemical reaction wherein toxic combustion by-products are converted to less-toxic substances.

Its going to be loud, very raspy, you may lose a bit of low end torque, and it will smell like unburnt gas.
However, it shouldn't have much of an effect on A/F as the post cat 02 sensors only measure catalyst efficiency.

Sorry for the cut and paste:

I met a guy with a sl63, said that he felt a difference in power and noise when taking out his secondary cats, i have kleemann k1 flash and programmed with no cats, any1 have any thoughts or inputs

actually, i got the same sort of question
I got a custom exhaust made for my car...
got straight pipes, x pipe straight, in the middle it includes 2 small resonators...
if i take out the cats will that gain me performance?
and will it sound louder + better?
