Cory,
I have a CLK black series. Considering that the BS engine is not "detuned" from the factory, how much gains can I expect with a stage 1 tune?

I ask my service manager if they could flash mine with the E63 flash. She told me that the computer would catch the wrong flash and refuse it. However, i'm not completely sure she would tell me the truth every time.

The CLK 63 BS has the same power as an E63. Same engine as your C63. Just the C63 is detuned.
When I went to RTW Motoring (SoCal distributer of Lorinser, Carlsson) they had a C63 with a Carlsson tune that pushed 550HP (only ECU tune).
The reason I was asking about the C63 being flashed with the CLK63 BS is because there is a CLK63 (non black series) that only comes in convertible which accepts the BS flash.
Both the non BS CLK and C 63 are detuned so it will be really easy to get 500hp.

I knew that. I just thought that the BS had 475HP stock or was that the non-BS one? Carlsson has 550 tune only? Was the Carlsson tune on CA 91 octane? Not even MHP is claiming that much HP on tune only.

Yup, that's the non BS. I honestly don't know how the Carlsson is claiming 550. I know for the E63 just with a Renntech Tune you can get 530HP. The only way I can see this possible is if they flash the C63 with the E63 tune.

Good to know that the K3 and K4 packages will be released soon. Any idea what these might be composed of? I'm gonna have to reconsider my options if they look promising.

Maybe depends on what your car is producing stock. Not all are the same. Mine was very weak car. Stock dyno was under 360 hp. 419 after K1 and 445 after K2. I believe some cars here have produced over 380 hp stock on a Dynojet. Looks like the tune takes everyone to same level. The mechanic at the dealer made a funny comment. He said the cars made during October Fest tend to have more problems then others. I guess Hans may have had a hangover when he was doing my car.

I canceled my order. Perfectly happy with my C63 over the 2010 E63, considering the next gen engine will be out sometime thereafter (2011 or 2012) -- at which point, I'll be trading

'08 C63 AMG (turned in for lease)
Car done at KLEEMANN USA headquarters in Colorado Springs. Baseline Vs. K1 ECU tuned for 91 octane. Baseline and K1 dyno done on the same dyno, same day (within 20 minutes of each other). Corrected for sea level. The best baseline run VS. the best K1 run. Both Baseline and K1 runs were done in 4th gear. DynoMET inertia dyno (of Danish manufacture) using Datamite acquisition system/internal weather station. RWHP/TQ shown. I can provide uncorrected data if anyone cares to see it (actual values at 6215 ft. above sea level). 60 degrees ambient for both runs, car at normal operating temp.
