C63 K1 dyno

Car done at KLEEMANN USA headquarters in Colorado Springs. Baseline Vs. K1 ECU tuned for 91 octane. Baseline and K1 dyno done on the same dyno, same day (within 20 minutes of each other). Corrected for sea level. The best baseline run VS. the best K1 run. Both Baseline and K1 runs were done in 4th gear. DynoMET inertia dyno (of Danish manufacture) using Datamite acquisition system/internal weather station. RWHP/TQ shown. I can provide uncorrected data if anyone cares to see it (actual values at 6215 ft. above sea level). 60 degrees ambient for both runs, car at normal operating temp.

I think you're reading it incorrectly. I believe you're confusing the HP curve with the TQ curve?

Baseline HP: 377.2
K1 HP: 435.0

Baseline TQ: 387.9
K1 TQ: 409.9

Gains:
HP: 57.8
TQ: 22

The comment regarding torque was in reference to it being higher than the HP number in stock form which I have never seen before either. The torque numbers before and after are much higher than typical which may be a characteristic of this dyno or this car is a torque monster from the factory.

Cory, I think what he's saying is that it certainly seems odd that the baseline stock RWTQ is higher than the baseline WHP, especially since MB advertises the C63 AMG @ 451HP / 443 lb-ft TQ.

EDIt -- didn't see hhughes1's post...+1.

I see the concerns. I write that off to the way an inertia dyno works and the particular software we're using- HP is measured and torque is calculated from the HP measurement. Each dyno Mfg. has a different way of making these calculations. I'll say what I've always maintained though- the peak numbers are largely irrelevant and somewhat arbitrary- what we're really interested in is the delta between stock and modified.

K1 and K2 tunes are not the same- they differ quite a bit.

K3 and K4 will be released this year- more on that later.

K5&K6- rumors. nothing in the works that I'm aware of.

Cory, what kind of MPG are we seeing with the standard K1 flash? I've been involved with turbo tuning the past 3 years and wanted to see if the K1 flash would raise MPG. Thanks in advance.

That, unfortunately, I don't have any data for. Perhaps some of our K1 clients would like to share their experience in regards to fuel mileage after the tune?

Generally, highway mileage will remain close to what it was stock, maybe a slight improvement, but nothing significant. At the end of the day, it's 100% dependent on how the car is driven. It's pretty easy to make tuned C63's get 9 MPG.

60 hp gain from just a tune is very incredible I wish the E63 was detuned from the factory like this

Can we get more details on K3 and K4 ?

Wow very strong RWHP and RWTQ numbers for just a K1 Tune. Kleemann is awesome! Cory, can you please post the uncorrected numbers to show exactly what the car made prior to correction factors.

Cory, is the K1 standard to work with 91octane? Here, in NJ, we use 93. Will the tune be optimized for that, or it really makes no difference? I ask because I will be getting the k1 tune shortly. Thank you.

Kleemann I believe normally does their tune for 93 unless 91 is stated or once they know you're in Cali or something like that. I remember someone saying this in a thread concerning the tuning of other cars.

MPG K1

Guys, some real world data, my 09 C63 with K1 tune burning 93 octane no other mods get 20-21 MPG on highway cruising 75-80mph. City driving MPG is not consistent, it changes with the mood of my right foot.

Anybody out there still on the fence about getting K1 tune? GET IT! Cory answered alot of my dumb questions before I sent my ECU to him. He came through on all his promises. He is the man! Kleemann is the way to go. Great company, Great Customer Service, Great Product, Awesome Power!

My $0.02

Finally a dyno reading that I can read and I can compare. There have been tons of garbage post and C63 owners that wasted their time posting dynos sheets missing this:

AFR
before and after runs superimposed
rpm chart(instead it shows speed)

Anyways, congrats.. you have a customer line up (yours truly), just waiting for a few more hundred miles and a phone call away. Good job on your product.

Thanks Cory. I haven't dyno'd my car with K1 yet but many others have experienced a gain closer to 50 rwhp as opposed to almost 60 rwhp as shown on your post. Do you have any idea why?
