Haven't broken 1000 yet as I was driving the other car a lot. Although it was being leased and I finally returned it last week so should hit 1000 quickly.
The re-flash issue will become a problem for me now that I'm down to 1 car again so not sure how I'm going to handle this yet. If I can find an SA that has no real problems with Kleemann and promises not to touch the ECU during routine servicing then I am good to go. Early next year will work for me too.
That X-pipe/charcoal filters mod might be another thing I look at as well. Great midrange gains with very little hassle. I wonder how it works together with the K1 tune?

In general, you don't want to tell the SA not to flash your ECU because this signals that you've actually done something to the ECU. It is better that they do not know and whenever they do flash the ECU back to stock, you have the option of having Kleemann re-flashing the changes.

A better way would be to buy RennTech's device that allows you to install different tunes in the car. Before you go to service, flash your own car back to stock. Then after service, back to Kleemann. Or you can flat out buy a new ECU, but those are not cheap.
In my opinion, warranty issues are already a hassle without adding to it. Personally, I'd much rather endure 3 days without my car than ever risk falling into a chaotic warranty scenario.

The risk you're taking is way greater than not being able to drive the car for 3 to 4 days. If the service advisor is heard talking about your car with someone else who happens to be not so mod friendly, such as, a service manager or even a technician, things could get out of hand quick. If management/owners discovers that some SA or mechanics let certain mods go, then that entire dealership can get audited by MBUSA. I've seen it happen. Also, you can fall in a situation where your SA is mod friendly now, but later becomes mod unfriendly due to certain restrictions or pressures from upper management or MBUSA. In such case where there is a certain amount in question or if they're really being audited by MB corporate, then they will have no trouble voiding your warranty or at least slapping your car with status 8 in order to avoid fines and paying for the pairs out of their own pocket. This would mean that anytime you go into the dealership for any type of repair, the dealership would have to wait for approval from a regional manager/tech, a process that can be very time consuming.... and even then, things never go smoothly.

Doesn't MB recognize some of the tuners (like RENNtech, Brabus) and therefore keep the warranties intact?
