Question Need Opinions -- New Wheels?

I currently have 19'' HRE C90s in a textured black finish with a polished lip on my black C63...I love the look of the wheel but I think I'm ready for a change, perhaps a cleaner/simpler overall look.

I've narrowed my choices down between two COMPLETELY different wheels: the CCW SP500 (I like that it's dramatically different from my current wheels) and the HRE CF43 (because who doesn't drool over CF, and because it would match my CF front lip/rear diffuser).

There's a huge difference between price and look, so it's a tough decision

Opinions? Size/face finish/lip finish?

Thanks guys!

Mahrukh it all depends on your budget. I like the HRE CF40 and C43 but I'm not sure if they are made with Dry Carbon Fiber though. You should check because you don't want Wet CF holding your car's weight. You should ask if its Dry Prepreg CF? If not then its not going to be strong enough IMO. Also you might want to take a look at these VF083 http://www.vossenwheels.com/vossen-f...els-vf083.html and VF051 http://www.vossenwheels.com/vossen-f...els-vf051.html

Merc -- no budget, it just comes down to which wheel would be best for my car, I guess you could say it comes down to practicality and aesthetic?

I haven't looked into the CF on the HREs, but I'll do my research Thanks for the suggestions. I like the look of the VF083, but it reminds me a little too much of HRE Monobloks (M53).

mahrukh,

It all comes down to simple taste. I'm more inclined to the CCW. Although, your car being black, maybe the CF one would look better. Photoshopping the image in your sig to replace the wheels would be a nice idea. It would give a more graphical idea of what you want.

There's a thread about the benefits of 19's and 18's. Maybe it would be a nice read: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...d-18-19-a.html

I'm not a wheel specialist, but be careful about the offset of those wheels. Choosing a positive offset could cause some rubbing. I've seen tons - and I mean it - of people here and in other forums that complain about tire rubbing on the fenders because they chose an offset that was not the most appropriate. I had an M3 with that problem and it was really annoying.

That's it. Drive safe, girl.

.
Perhaps just changing the color of the centers on your existing HREs to get some contrast?

CF43 is nice, however I would go with one piece forged rim as an option, so I would pick ADVAN F15 , very similar to CF43 style.

True but the VF083 looks better in comparison to me at least. I don't know if you checked out Forgiato but see if you like something by them as well.

Here is a photoshop of the HREs on a C63 also. I think it's a member's car from Evosport, not sure though.

Good Luck!

Great idea Alex! I think I'll custom make a dry CF teddybear rim with the center cap as it's belly button. That'll look hard!

My car. And I was interested in the CFs as well, but I'm still waiting on any kind of response regarding availability and price (since July).

Everything from HRE is TUV approved (and the hoops are supplied by Dymag to HRE specs) so this really isn't an issue.

Josh, are those vents on the fenders functional? Who makes them? I just received the new Performance Products catalog and there is a w204 body kit from Expressions that has hood vents you can add-on.

LOL. I Photoshopped them. I like them, though... I wanted to try something cleaner than what most of these body kit makers are doing. Some of them are soooooooooooooo tacky.
