CL600 vs. C63..?

I took my brothers car down to the track last night....the one I listed for him on here in the classifieds.....the track in west palm beach Florida ...I put in 3 runs

temp 84 degrees very humid ...

I raced a C63 and a Lexus ISF on a 225 shot progressive NOS

both me and the C63 had the same 60' I was so far ahead of the c63 I thought his car stalled

the C63 was running consistent low 13's at 105-106?? he ran atleast 5 times

the ISF was running low 13's at 103 and with NOS he pulled a 13.00 at 116

the ISF driver was NOT GOOD at launching at all as you can see

now the C63??? I am very familier with all MERCEDES...and yes the track was not prepped correctly and the air was **** but 13's?????? at 105???

I ran 12.3 12.5 @ 117 all 3 runs... hot off the street after driving 50 miles

bone stock CL600 2004

Sorry but throwing down the loot on a C63 and a 2004 CL600 took it by a second? Makes no sense!! and I own a Black series SL so you know I can spend on a BENZ....but to say the least ...there is no SUBSTITUTE for the V12 TT...SORRY folks....

LOL. Foolish & pointless post.

Drag racing is all about HP, weight, and translating HP to the ground. The C63 is a fine machine, but not class-comparable to a CL600.

If I were serious about drag racing, I'd choose neither BTW.

Point 1, how can you run a 225 shot and pick up 13 mph and a only knock off a few tenths

Someone is throwing around a large load of BS here, most likey the owner of the ISF as to how much of a shot it really is

Next, well this one is a no brainer so enough said.

And finally, YEAH MAMA, that's why I own one now

Yup. I miss it. Got a good price for it though.

Thinking about a Gallardo or a 430 in the spring

Ahhh, the spring. The spring would not be as pleasant without the winter. - Anais Nin

C63 was running terrible...they usually trap at 112-113mph stock, about mid 12s.

First off, there is no way in hell that a CL600 could do mid 12s. No way. Unless it was heavily modded.
I've ran a 12.85 in my CLS63 and I know guys that have done 12.6 without mods and 11 something with mods. But bone stock the 63 doesn't do below 12.5 I don't think. The C63 is no exception. Now through in a novice driver and you'll see 13.5 all day long.

btw, to get the best runs, you need ESP off, and probably manual shift with a very cool motor. Juice63 use to run an ice truck to the track for us so we all had bags and bags of ice on our cars all day long.

You really need to take a look at dragtimes.com my friend. There are atleast 3 in the mid-low 12's claiming to be stock. Mods are ALL in the 11's, some DEEP in

Here in NY we just wait for the cool weather.

The ice bags are pretty funny....

I have the video.. i will put it up soon

And with the combination of the temp ..mid 80's and the track ... I may have hit high 11's in my CL600 if the condition was better...

All my races were with ESP ON....no way in hell I would run without it...I have stock 18's with little tires on my car..... and no torquing at light with light throttle off the line then flooring it....twice spun to 30 mph and once with a great launch and almost zero spin.....

That is exactly what another guy at the track said... "no way a heavy CL600 can beat the C63 or his ISF"....lol... it destroyed them both....and the CL600 is for sale for pennies compared to the cost of the C63 or ISF...I love the C63 but I wont own one until it hits low $30's around the first of the year.....I Have owned 9 v12 TT's...and yes I ran 12's in mid 80 temps...

My last CL600 ran mid 12's @114-117 in 77 degree temps and my CL65 ran a 11.20@ 123 mph in 63 temp...all stockers...

My CLS55 ran a 12.98@ 111 mph ......and the list goes on...

The C63 ran more then 5 times and was RUNNING what I said... now I know it is capable... I have been behind the wheel of a few... but with the heat did it make that much of a difference? I know what I ran and that is my point....

FWIW, I should be going to PBIR sometime in Nov. or Dec., when the weather cools off. Granted I now have the RENNtech ecu flash tune, but I will be happy if I run in the low 12's @ 114+mph, depending on my launch and 60ft. time of course.

I can tell you that I have tested my Beltronics Vector FX1 accelerometer at the track before and it's proved to be surprisingly quite accurate. The last time I used it with my C63 AMG on my "private track," it recorded 12.8 sec. @ 113mph with a 2.0 sec. 60ft.; I usually hook up better at the track though...although I have yet to go to the track in my C63 AMG. I will let everyone know how I run when I go...I hope I will not be disappointed.
