MHP HEADERS INSTALLED

i was going to wait and spill the bean when i got my camera back but here it goes. wen night i went to P.A at my friends house and me and 2 of my friends installed my MHP headers. we started thrusday morning and by evening they where on and by today afternoon they 100% on. well just for the exhaust part on my end. the headers took us about 7-8 hours to install, dont forget we dont work on car everyday just a hobbie. we started to take off the airbox to the covers under the car, easy part was dont, then to take off my exhaust to the headers bolts was a beach. thanks to my friend with his skiny hand that got all of them out me i cut my hand up like a **** but thats all b/c i dint follow MHP instruction and my friend did (btw Andy was there every phone call i make for help thanks to him they on today) , it took us to take off the exhaust system about good 5 hr (5hr of taking out sweet time) to install the headers it realy took about 5 min to put them on, then another hour to tight the bults good. by then we where all hungry and tired so we stoped once the headers were on. today we woke up and finished the rest of the exhaust i got from MHP and with some lube and grips it was on in a hour. but my problem just started when i was done installing the MHP headers i could not install my resonators bc i had that and the 2nd cats off. (took them off and put stre8 pipe a while back) so i drove with no mufflers or resonators from P.A to N.Y 115 miles and all i can say NASCAR. this car sounds like a race car its sooooooo loud but monday i have a shop weld my resonator on to my stock exhaust like it was from M.B and ill be all good to go. i have pix and vids but i forgot my camera in P.A so maybe tuesday or wen i will have them up. here is a vid for teasers from my cell phone MHP headers on with no mufflers or resonators no cats. ENJOY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSyzNS2vmMQ

ohhh yea i drove 115 miles and avr was 21 mpg like that hahahahah and the ecu is learning.

Good to hear that even an inexperienced wrencher got them on. Did you really have to remove the airbox to install? Were all of the nuts accessed from the bottom?

Sweet! Once you get everything together the car will really come alive after 500 mi or so. At least that's what I experienced, and now it feels like a rocket.

I just listened to your vid, and oddly enough that's similar to what my cold starts sound like, even with the mufflers, resonators AND high flow cats! Wierd, but I'm sure in person it would make your ears bleed haha. But yeah, after I had my headers installed the first week I couldn't even concentrate on the power. I sort of babied the car for about 2 weeks just because I thought something was going to break!

But I think everything has finally broken in now, the ecu adjusted, and it made a big difference, or maybe I've just finally adapted, but either way I'm LOVING it now. You probably put a lot more miles on your C63 then me, so I'm sure you'll get to that point much quicker, but after I took the car out of city limits and ran through a few gears several times, that's when I could finally feel those extra HP kick in. And man do they KICK.

Can't wait to see your times at the track and/or hp numbers. I'll be running my car this Sunday, and if I can launch this thing I'm hoping for some good times!

Nice work, Mthis.
You're a true motorhead when you do your own header install.

Sweeeet man. Good luck. Let's see what this modded c63 can do to a stock e55 lol. Then we can bump heads again when I'm modded.

A C63 is a detuned E63 (enginewise). Mthis is beyond E63 spec.

The E63 is not faster than the C63 to begin with. It has more power but it also weights a whole lot more.

omg that sounds insane. I would definitely love to hear that thing rev before you put resonators back on.

btw where the hell are your exhaust tips? did the whole thing get shorter or something or is the camera just too high?

can you PM the price for MHP ecu/tcu vs plus the LT headers?

the exhaust was off the car. that sound came from str8 pipes from the headers.
