tought one,as both are great, but the looks of the Ecoupe is just beautiful. The powere will be there too, but the C63 is just a crusher and dominates. It's up to what you want, more elegance, then the Ecoupe, more grunt, but still classy, the C63. Good Luck

E550 is a much better looking car in my opinion and 5.5engine is a masterpiece as well.
380hp in a small car should be enough for pretty much anyone.
C63 is more of a insane car stock 451 with a chip 500+hp makes it super car fast. C63 is also track worthy.
Unless you prefer luxury a lot over peformance C63 is the way to go.

I had the same option as you when my other C63 was getting Lemon'd..I went back to the C63...As much as I like the E550..I know there might be an E63 coupe...and I would not want to miss that one!

i was really worried about this (c class platform) when i ordered mine, but i haven't been disappointed at all - it feels solid but definitely like an e class. i love it.

1. AMG is AMG
2. E coupe is just another C class, can't justify the extra $$$ for just the looks of the exterior
3. C63 is true performance car
4. If you after a proper luxuary, get the E class sedan rather than the coupe
5. C63 has been around for a while now, many potential bugs been resolved. compare to E cpoupe; there still many issues to come.

C63 might be a lot more bang for bucks but it sometimes seem to much like a mid life crisis car especially if you are into the 40s.
Personally i would take C63 as i have done but i am perfectly understanding if another guy like the OP choose to take E550.
E550 still got loads of power but with much better ride. It also looks a lot more mature than the C63.

2010 E550 Coupe, 2008 ML 320 CDI
i was shopping between C63 and E550 coupe. and as soon as i drove Ecoupe, i fell in love with it. it doesn't have power like C63 (C63 is a true animal) but has enough power to have fun. i guess i wanted more luxury than performance.

I test drove the E550 coupe and it was very nice, beautiful lines, almost indistinguishable from the CL.
However, I am leaning towards the 2010 E63.
The only reason I would take the E550 is the cost, 25k less than the E63. But the E63 is a brute and I love the exhaust...

I know the E63 has a greater "lux" factor than a C63. But if you'r buying AMG, why ever get an E over the C? You can get the same motor in a C, in a much lighter, better handling platform. I don't think most people, even MB buyers, know that the C63 was designed from day 1 as an AMG car.

09 c63amg, 2010 E350, 08 Ford F-450 Powerstroke
I had the same struggle as I was looking at an E350 Coupe which is a really nice car. My wife just picked up an E350 Sedan with the P2 package with all the electronic goodies. I ended up going with the C63 for the power. Once the saleman turned the ignition key on it was a done deal. The wife's car is pure luxury and comfort, my car is pure power and sport. Kind of the way it should be...

The E550 Coupe looks great and can be a really nice cruiser, but be careful of whom you stick in the back -- I'm 5'10" and the tip of my head was already touching the headliner. That was a deal breaker for me, even as a 2+2.
If you do get the C63, make sure you wait for the Performance Package Plus that's coming out in the spring.
