19" Tire Pressure

Hi all
I am picking up my car in a few days. Just wonder what pressures people use on their 19" tires on stock wheel?

I have played around on my 19's quite a bit. Found 34 all around is a great setup (as suggested by 1stAMG on this forum)

I'm running around 38 psi for the street. I found out the hard way you definitely don't want to run too low a pressure on 19" low profile tires. If you fall below 30 psi for any significant amount of time the bead around the tire will start to deform an no longer hold air. But if I'm at the track I'll lower it to around 34 psi like North, and maybe even 30-32 psi if I'm running down the drag strip.

34 psi seems to have the perfect balance of road feel and handling, but some others may find it otherwise, on the track as well this seems to be optimun as well.

my car came with 38 psi all round from day one,Only had car 7 weeks from new and certainly here in UK 38 seems about right,Feel sure running round on multispokes with 34 psi would have given me damaged rims buy now! Has for tyre wear still to early to comment yet!

My car came with 39 all around on 19" Multispokes. Too hard for my liking Our OEM recommendations in Canada is 37F , 39R for 5 passangers. Even my MB Shop Forman claimed the high recommendation was for the DOT fuel rating ( trying to keep it low for less tax) and should leed to uneven tire wear unless the car was well loaded (weight)

Both 1stamg and I run 34 lbs all around on 19" multi's . 1st without P30, Mine with P30. I have 30,000 klm on pot hole rittled roads without wheel issues so far . 1 Fr sidewall bulge due to a pothole but no wheel damage

3 sets of rears, 2 sets of fronts and dead even tire wear

Thanks everyone. So I am getting an opinion between 34 and 39psi. Let's see what the dealer suggest when I pick the car up tomorrow.

Hi all,
Pick the car up yesterday. The tires are running 36 psi all around. Having seen the recommendations form this forum I guess I will give 36 a try.
BTW car is great. Can't wait to get over the 1500km mark to rev the car a bit higher.

Had the car for three days now and 36psi don't seem to encounter problem, only that the sidewall sometime get dusty which makes me wonder whether the tire can used a little more pressure so that when full locks or turning into those slightly raised run-ins of parking lot the tire can be more stiff.
I wish I can observe the movement of the wheels from outside but I am the only driver. Not sure if I have a point here and whether I am just being over-concerned.

34/36 psi in 19 ins multis in my opinion is asking for damage to those beautifully machined AMG wheels, just to risky i would say.Four people and a full tank of gas then try going up a low kerb on an angle into say a gas station and boy you'd better keep them fingers crossed because a damaged rim is sure to come your way one day.Better to play safe with 38 psi even if tyres might tend to wear in the centre.("You have been warned")

Our OEM 18's say 41F and 45R...

What would the right pressure be for a set of 20's?
I figure it should be quite high due to the decrease in sidewall protection.

I should have mentioned earlier that I'm also running 265/30/19 in the back, and 235/35/19 in the front with 38 psi all around.

I got the 19s yesterday with Nitto Invo tires on them (F: 235/35/19, B: 265/30/19).

I've put the front at 35 and the back at 38. It was a rainy day and the back felt a bit too inflated when taking sharp corners, it oversteers just a bit... On the Nitto tires and with these specs, tread-wear on the back tires looks like its not touching the ground for about a half inch into the outer side. Which makes me think I should probably lower the back pressure to about 36 and see... Front feels OK.

The original OEM specs on the sticker for 225/40/17, 255/35/17 was 30 for the front and 35 for the back. I guess that the OEM front specs are lower to correct the understeer. Now with the 19s, the magical formula on this forum seems to be somewhere around 36 all around???

If anyone has any suggestions based on experience please help out!
My goal is to achieve optimal performance without sacrificing even-tire-wear or putting my rims at risk.

Thank you.

Question

Tyre placard for C63 says 39 front 41 rear....which is what I run.
lower pressures may give you a better ride, but you are putting your rims at greater risk from pot holes etc.
Cheers, Pickles.
