About to pull the trigger on 4 of these (235/40-18 [Front] AND 255/35-18 [Rear]) for my winter/spring setup until I can put summer performance tires back on.
I haven't seen a lot of mentions about these though. A Google search reveals a few happy Bimmer/Lexus owners. And I realize that I'm sacrificing some performance (which is okay with me if I can keep driving my C63 with most of the light snow/ice we get in the DC area for 10 days each year).
Anyone hear anything bad about them though? Thanks!

Don't know. I've got Extreme Contact DW tires and I love them. 235 up front and 265 on the rears. They handle great and I'm hoping for longer durability than the Pzeros. I only have 2K on them so the jury is still out.

plz don't get all season
All season = No season
Especially for a high power car like C63 all season will suck.
Get a set of winter and set of summer would be much better.
I can almost gurantee you All season on C63 won't work well in the snow

The DW tires I have are great. I would be worried about what the torque of our car would do to the harder rubber of the DWS tires (yes, they are different).
I've thought about it and winter tires just don't make sense for the DC metro area. It snows maybe 10 days out of the year around here.
So I was looking for a compromise that would allow me to MAYBE use my car (it's my only car and thus my daily driver) during some of those 10 days.
A/S seemed to fit the bill since getting another set of performance summer tires would render the car useless during those 10 days without a doubt.

i had the same thinking and researched long and hard for a decent a/s tire that i cud use year round. problem is that the number of tires are limited in the oem size and xl load rating that mb requires. was leaning toward the goodyear f1 a/s but heard terrible things about that tire also. ended up ordering a dedicated winter wheel/tire set from tirerack for $1600 delivered.

I'm running them on my E. I like them very much. They are great in the rain and they're quiet. I am in MD and I couldn't justify a set of winters either.
From your other comments though, it sounded like the DWS don't handle dry pavement all that well.
Starting to think about the Pilot Sport A/S Plus instead... Even though Tirerack rated the DWS higher.

If by handling in dry pavement you mean getting them to hook like drag radials or summers, no, they're not that great. But they corner well and are comfortable. It's personal preference, I suppose. The all around A/S performance was more important to me than getting them to hook up and go. YMMV.Originally Posted by dps01

All seasons, you crazy talking. The treadwear on those things are so hard. They will suck in the winter and the summer.
Decided to pull the trigger on four Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires. I know, A/S sucks yadda yadda. I guess I'll get to make up my own mind in a few months!
Thanks for everyone's input.

Will definitely post my thoughts come the snow/ice.
Just to confirm, if I'm just mounting the new Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires on my stock rims (and discarding the existing worn-out tires), then there's no need to get a wheel alignment, right?
Just a mount/balance...
Thanks!
