You're probably right. But there's arguably a bigger market for this car State-side than anywhere else. Shame, really.

Your right!!! I LOVE this car. It made me happy

We need AMG to do something with C63 or do something with coupe. I dont like loosing to M3. I think its our biggest rival. Maybe make limited amount like 190E Evo 2. Maybe call it like C63 Cup Car?

How about clc BS AMG
Well I heard rumors that next one might be C class and seeing how 2 door C class is coming out soon who knows
Or maybe they'll rob us of that as well just like they robbed us of the SLK

I'm sure we'll probably see a 17 year old driving one on the 405.

HAHAHA! I can't help to grin everytime someone mentions HIRO63's GT Wing thread!!!

It's not that ugly. But agreed: it's a track dedicated car.

CLK63 Black Series
Now that's an M3 right up my alley. Hopefully it will make it stateside, and if it does, I want it. In my opinion it will be competing with the new Porsche GT3, rather than the discontinued CLK BS. Price should be right around a GT3 as well, probably $110K.

+1

It just hit me before reading ur post

this is actually right up GT3's nose...I doubt Amg gonna make anything so hardcore to reply to this beast.

However a hardcore version of M3 or the ultimate light weight Porsche....

I would take GT3 over this anyday

That depends on a few factors:

1. What is the 0-60 of the GTS?
2. How far is the nearest utility pole to the first dealer that gets one in?

I have my doubt that 0-60 of this car will improve siginificantly compared to normal M3.

The E92 m3 is a heavy beast to start with i doubt that with this gts they could have bring the weight down to low 3000lb range.

I would be suprised to see the weight drop to 3400lb. However unless this thing weighs below 3400 or 3300lb theres no way its gonna be better or as good as a GT3.

Can't wait to see one on the track...

i think it looks sick honestly..it gives the car a much more aggressive look, something that the normal e92 m3 lacked. i doubt theyll bring it to the states tho considering they didnt bring the csl

Another .4 litres and it can only spit out 36 more hp?

Not impressed. For that money I'll hit up a GT3 RS

That's just below 100bhp/liter. The car itself is makes precisely 100bhp/NAliter. The specific output of your 6.2, now that's unimpressive.

As for suspension geometry, well this car's the equivalent of game over for AMG.

MikeS54-- Your doubts on weight loss are ill-founded , the GTS's official weight is 3285lbs. I'd say it's fair to say the GT3 RS has more than a fight on its hands. I'd also say that, while unimportant, 0-60 will be substantially improved. Shedding almost 500lbs tends to help with that.

BMW has already reported a curb weight on the pre-production car of 3,285 lbs (1,490 kg).

Edit: Oh, Carl beat me to it.

Apparently, one of the chief considerations for the larger displacement motor was to improve low-end torque.

Did they give out any new torque #s for this GTS yet?

The E46 M3 CSL was my favourite...

They haven't published full specifications for the car yet, but the interview with various BMW personnel points to that (the desire for increased low-end torque) as being one of the objectives for this variation of the M3. Can't wait to see what the finished product will be capable of.

thats pretty good manage to lose more than 400lb

however a standard gt3 only way 3069lb still siginificantly less than GTS.

I just really doubt it will beat the GT3 overall but i bet its gonna come pretty close to it.

If the car makes it stateside those seats will not. The Euro SL65BS weighs 300lbs less than the US version just due to the safety regulated seating. Bye Bye 3285lbs
