Thought some of you would be interested in this.

450 bhp 4.4L V8, 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, early editions should reach their Germany-based customers by May of next year.

BMW is targetting a Nurburgring time below that of their fabled M3 CSL from a few years ago, which would seem eminently possible considering the huge difference in power output between the old and the new.

I don't know...do we really?

If we were to do battle with that, I don't think many of us would use a 4-door family sedan to begin with.

It'd be silly if they did. The GTS is clearly a track-dedicated car, whereas the C63 is much more an all-rounder.

Apples and oranges.

This looks more like a CLK BS competitor. Though the wing is functional (plus it would make Hiro63 happy), it is FUGLY!

You mean the "E" class coupe right? lol jp

IF the all new C class coupe is designed to go up against the 3 series coupe what is the E class coupe competing with?

LOL

Seriously though, I see this more so as a competitor to the GT3 RS than the CLK BS.

+1. And, wanna bet that this dedicated "track" M3 costs > $100k USD?

In the interview with BMW CEO Kay Seglar, he's quoted as saying, "The price for the standard configuration is 115,000 euros in Germany. Deliveries will begin next spring."

Can't wait to see the 'Ring time for this monster. I'm guessing it will obliterate the CLK Black Series even with its 60hp deficit. 3285lbs is the kind of weight AMG have never showed any signs of attaining...

The interesting thing is BMW engineers are saying early testing has already given them confidence this new car will easily better the time set by the M3 CSL around the Nordschleife (which was 7:50) which, presumably and as you will probably have correctly guessed, is going to absolutely blow the CLK Black Series right out of the water, as the CLK BS clocked in at 8:02 around the same track.

I just looked atthe BMW.de site and a base price M3 sedan starts at 66 euro k. That 115 euro k is a hefty mark up.

Absolutely. But I'd suspect they won't have too much trouble selling that car.

Yea, It will most likely be almost half that price for stateside. It is amazing what the Germans or all Europeans for that matter pay for their wheels.Other than the several I have driven I have only seen two on the Autobahn here in Germany, both were Stutgart plates.

Depends on how much this will cost ...i wont' be suprised if its really 115keuro though as the E46CSL costed 100k euro? or a bit less. The E30 csl was even more pricy back then.

Don't like the spoiler though... looks ricy

and only lambo can pull off bright orange.

other than these two things this is truly a fantastic car. Makes me wanna own a M car again.
