Power, schmower. This is what matters to me...

At this point a lot (A LOT) of people are claiming to have the most power or the hottest tune or the best headers or... whatever (myself included). Your car a little stronger than mine? Great. I'm happy for you. Seriously. I'm kind of over the crowing over the 10-15 HP differences between the top cars here. I say **** that noise if you don't have fun with it. And as many of you know, I like to have fun with it! Here's my friend and pro driver Kevin Kraack launching The Dragon at the Optima Invitational Road Course:

The most fun part probably came after that video ended......there is nothing like driving and enjoying your ride on a proper track (road course) lap after lap after lap......where you can go full throttle on the straights, brake hard before turns, and turning in to hit the apexes.....

Sure beats the traffic light to traffic light drag races or 1/4 mile run where the thrill is over after 11-13 seconds for the most part.

Ha ha.....Barry. I didn't get that message from webbie in time about Sunday's track day at Mosport. Looked like great weather.

You managed to get 6 full track days in this season?........that's exactly the same amount as me......you're becoming a track rat......following in webbie's shoes.

Also, I can't ignore your new signature......planning to get 550+ HP and R-compounds for next season?.........come on, have some pity on underpowered cars........you're not making things any easier for me to try to keep up with you next season.......

Hey Josh,

Saw your car and you at the last day of SEMA man. I was trying to holla at you but you were taking off since it was the end of the show. Did you drive your car over there? Must've been a fun drive on the 15 fwy?

Josh, it shouldn’t matter if it’s the quickest and most powerful or not, your car looks sensational regardless. The great power you already have is just a bonus from my point of view.

What I like!
Hey, that is Pahrump/Spring Mountain!

What configuration were you running for road course? 2.2? 3.1?

What turn did you go off in?

Have they put in a dragstrip?

I can't do burnouts but I can turn some fast times on that course (we can share lap times if you'd like ) I've been there many, many times though.... but not recently.

First off, I just reread what I initially wrote and it sounded a little prissy. I really love that there's a group of us going for big power with these little devil-machines and I don't remember why I phrased my original post like I did. Must have been PMSing... It's been a crazy-busy/eventful/tragic/mournful/unexpected few months and lately I've been kind of cranky from fatigue. That being said, thanks for all the great props you guys! It's been a long build-out and I'm really happy with the way the car is turning out and am looking forward to finishing off the little details soon. I talked to Vorsteiner a couple days ago and Peter is planning on getting me the carbon pieces in the next couple weeks, so I'm practicing patience and serenity.

Well, actually it was my friend Kevin driving the car. I can only wish I had the chops this guy has. He's driven rally cars, drift cars, motos, NASTrucks... He pretty much rips in anything on wheels. And, yes it was Spring Mountain.

Anyway, the course was on the 2.2 mi. N/S track. Kevin's best/only time was 1:56, which I think is pretty good for a sedan on street tires. The winning times were mid 1:40s by a 1000hp '66 Cobra, so read what you will. On his second timed lap he put two wheels off in turn three, no biggie, but the rules were pretty explicit about no dust, so we got a big, BIG time penalty. Oh well. And there's no dragstrip just yet.

Yep. Had a great time, too. I took it fairly easy most of the way (caught up with the MFest convoy about halfway out and had some fun with them for a while) but I matted the fast pedal just before the state line and saw 170 pretty quickly before we hit traffic and had to back off. Also, we were one of only three cars to actually drive to the Spring Mountain event from SEMA. I never saw so many so called "street cars" getting pulled out of trailers. Go figure...

Thanks Keith! I peeped the videos. Looks like a great track and a really fun time, but I gotta fess up to being kind of a track wimp: I love to drive hard, but I get motion sickness really badly sometimes. Those times being when I'm on a track, after about four or five laps. So-hoo G-hey. I also love driving UP twisty mountain/canyon roads, but coming DOWN always knots my guts up. Go figure...

Anyway here's a REALLY smokey burnout to peep:

(not for the faint hearted)
