C63 To 2010 GT500
#51
10 gt500 12.0x at 119 stock!!!
Handling at near .92 vs the c63 .89. Whats this handling better than the merc even with the live axle???
2011 gt500 with svtpp option hits the skidpad at 1.0 better than the m3 .95!
Also the 11 lost 100lbs making the gt500 3760lbs.
If you dont need or want 4 doors I say get the 10/11 gt500!

Check the latest road and track. They compared a bunch of cars for drifting. I can't believe they did not include the C63 as it is an easy drifer.
Anyway, it was a standard Mustang and they were not happy with the live rear axle. Mustangs have a bunch of power but you can do some reseach online on the magazines and you will find out that they cannot put that power to the ground. More power is futile without traction.
I would not spend 55K on a Mustang. You can get a Z06 for that price...

Either that or you could just buy a Z06.

I saw 2010 GT500 KR this weekend it. All those stats may be true, but it still looked like a janky old pos Ford that I would never spend money on (hope he doesn't read MBWorld). I had a Camaro SS, which was 'cool' when I was younger. They don't compare when you take in all factors now..

They're both cool cars. Interesting that most of the responses in this thread center on performance. That's all well and good. From what I can tell, it's a dead heat down a straight and the AMG takes it in the twisties.
That aside and more importantly, you need to consider safety. I know it's not as sexy to think about but in the event that something terrible happens and you have the Benz, odds are that you will be able to walk away. I'm not sure the same can be said of the Ford. That is a very important consideration.
Build quality, I'm not sure where everyone is getting this idea that the C63 features subpar materials. The C-Class is at the TOP of it's class in initial quality (first 90 days) and Mercedes received the highest ranking for interior build quality, both according to JD Power. Yes, the Ford will look nice for a couple months. The AMG will look nice for years, even decades if properly maintained.
But my 2 cents is to consider performance and all that, but don't let safety take a back seat. For most, it's never a concern until that split second before your fire wall's about to introduce itself to your knees.
