The black trim around the windows and black trim around the bumper vents.

Why on earth did MB not make the rear fenders look like yours. This way it matches with the front fenders.

What process and cost did you follow for the blackout trim?

Great look btw on the rear fender!

Jae Duk and C63 DTM AMG FTW.

patboyy - I got some 3M DiNoc film and did the vents. Another member did it a while back (and there's a thread about it) and I've been wanting to do it ever since. I finally got motivated after Revozport posted all the pics of the cars that went too far with the film. This stuff looks incredible and the detail it adds to the front end sets it off perfectly.

Thanks again for the compliments on the fenders!

And peet - I used 2" wide blackout tape from Pep-Boys for the window trim. Stuff looks fantastic if you take your time and do it right. For the grille, I removed the chrome trim and sanded, primered, painted and polished it. It's beginning to chip a lot, so if I had to do it again (which I will...) I'd take it to a body shop and have them use etching primer as a basecoat.

Josh

NICE! i think it was ZO (or OZ?) that did the vents but i could be completely wrong. i remember he was trying to seal it with nail polish or something? what did you end up doing?

and i love those fenders...may have to take a semester off school and get those done ahaha

Yeah, he used some real carbon film or fabric or something like that and another member suggested sealing it so the edges wouldn't delam or curl or something. This DiNoc stuff is actually a faux-carbon, fancy, fancy vinyl, so there's nothing to seal or coat because it's one solid film. The texture is amazing, and for something really small like this, I don't feel like too much of an assclown for using carbo-vinyl-Fakeitty-McFakefake.

And dude, save the fenders for a graduation present for yourself...

Or don't. They look killer, huh?

yea i was never a fan of the big pieces but what you did sounds perfect. I have a black car however so im not sure if it would really stand out (since theres no other carbon on the front). and yea those fenders are insane and i would possibly even want to go for like an SL65 Black Series width fender! but all in due time! gotta get my books and invest so that i can spend that when i get out of school! graduation present sounds like a plan! ahaha
