does your C63 hesitate when you engage Drive?

Just wondering.... when i engage "D" Drive from either neutral or from reverse (through neutral) the gearbox hesitates a little (with moderate gas pedal pressure) before it takes off.

is this normal? seems odd.

Mine has it too, unfortunately, when I back out of my driveway, I have to gun it just to get it moving, before cars behind me run into my car. My neighbors probably think I'm a big jerk!

All the time. both D and Reverse hesitate for a second for me. And when you're in a rush, and give to much gas before it's engaged...burn rubber baby

Everytime. Normal. This has to do with the transmission engaging from neutral into gear lock with thicker/deeper gear tooth. I have to keep pressing the gas peddle until I get movement.

It's designed so you can't slam it into gear while there is torque on the tranny.

Funny, I was just getting ready to post this same question today. Besides the hesitation, I also sometimes feel a very subtle jolt when engaging from Reverse to Drive. Is that normal too?

Yep, I also noticed this when I first got the car. Don't think there is much we can do about it though.

i usually wait a second in btwn so i dont know if ive noticed it or not, or i juss dont accelerate hard enough to notice..?

however when im ready to park the car and my foot is off the brake, it feels like the car is hesitating, kind of back and forth very subtly but definitely there, anybody else get that?

i noticed that this only happens when either the trans is in "C" (the default setting when you go from reverse to drive), as in this mode the car wants to start in 2nd gear.

if you tap the gear lever over to "1" or engage the "S" mode, problem gone!

wish i could engage "S" as the default...

Exactely. Driver is supposed to stop the car completely before engaging reverse or, in reverse, before engaging drive. Seems like some partners out there are barbecuing their torque converters...haha!!

Am I missing something here? I have to select S manually every time I start the car. It's really getting on my nerves.

2010 model by the way.

Mine starts on S or C. If I want to go M, i have to select it. But my car saves the last mode you were on. If I parked in S, it will start in S.
