Speaking of engine revving.. Sometimes I hear a kind of whine in the higher rpms of 1st gear when I'm pushing it a little. Is this normal at all? It's only sometimes.. and in s-auto I don't hear it at all. Other gears don't notice it at all if it's there.

That whine you hear is most likely the engine drive train itself.

Car running, place in Neutral release foot from brakes, rev to 3k max, hell just hold your foot to the floor then w/out lifting the gas pedal slam shifter into "D" & hold D'phuc on
You should def do this Top Secret power releasing-tranny droppin' technique @ Dragstrip after the 2nd yellow of course

very interesting post!
M3 has M-DCT (Manual- double clutch transmission) and they call it it's automated manual.
i test drove one w/ M-DCT. my E93 was manual. M-DCT is a fun car. you can do LC (Launch control; pre-programmed) easy. however, I don't think C63 has LC. and other member says it's fast automatic. i wouldn't do LC on this beast. you don't need to. in my mind. i test drove C63 and little of gas, it will do it automatically without LC. have fun and drive safely.~!!!

Sorry for bringing back such an old and stupid thread, but I have a question that is ...somewhat ..in line with the OP. Take a look here, listen to what these C63's are doing:
You'll notice that they rev while coasting, how is that happening without putting it in neutral, revving the crap out of it, then back into D? All while coasting and not hard accelerating? I know the drivers in the video are being jerks (sort of) but I was just curious how the heck they're doing that on an auto tranny.
Are they pretty much destroying their cars by revving like that? or is that actually possible on a 55 or 63 motor?

They are speeding up, putting it in neutral, revving some then letting the rpms go back down before putting it into drive. The other half time is either downshifting or speeding up in a lower gear. If you switch constantly from neutral to drive at very high rpms, it's not the best for the engine but C63 is built pretty tough and has safety measures built in...it won't let you completely destroy it that easily.

lol that exhaust revn vid was fun though what I dont get & wonder what's wrong as they should be able to lay some rubber too IE do some serious burnouts while revn but even when the guy in the bright blue 1 def pulled away trying to accelerate as well as make noise he couldn't break the tires loose to save his life?? If I did any sort of acceleration like that in my v12 it'd lay rubber from 1 end of that street to the other.. What gives?? They weren't always just revvin few times they were totally to the floor trying to accelerate w/zero smokey's that's weak sauce..

They were probably in C mode since they were stopping and going a lot, so they were always starting in 2nd gear. That's what I would do so the car wouldn't be all jerky trying to switch gears all the time.
