Opinion on value of 2010 Audi S4
Given the expected bias in favor of the C63 on this forum, I still want to know what people think of the 2010 Audi S4. The new body style is aggressive but still classy. The interior seems very rich and luxurious compared to a 3 series or even the C-class. The power is very linear, but of course, does not have that monster thrust of the 6.2 liter V8. However, you can get one with navigation, 19" wheels, etc for at least $12k less, and the lease is a good 40% cheaper. Has anyone test-driven it? What do you think compared to the C63?

That is the car that I wanted before the C63 . I could drive it but I sat inside the car, it had the carbon fiber trim and other upgardes like the nav/sound and rear sport differential. I think is a heck of a car and it is way underarated power wise. It is getting as much power to the wheels as advertized to the crank. It already seen low 13s at 107 and 0-60 in 4.6 sec which is not bad at all considering the weight.
I think you should go for it, I would. You are worndeing why I did not get one then, well, MB gave me $12000 off the MSRP plus offered me $7000 more on my trade, that is $19000 combined plus the additional savings on taxes(the lesser amount from the new car to the trade in car the lesser taxes you pay).

Audi has changed the way they are marketing their A4 line starting with this model year. The A4 is now the competitor to the C300, the S4 to the C350, and the RS4 to the C63. This is why you'll see the new S4 no longer has the large V8 engine, nor has the price tag to compete with the AMG.

Ya, Viper98912 pretty much summed it up that you cannot really compare the Audi S4 w/ the C63. I think the Audi S4 is the best sedan under $50,000. Does anyone know how much more hp you can get with a simple ECU flash?

huge point of contention for me. I was an RS4 owner for 3 years before the C63 and was seriously considering an S4. However, there are a few things I simply couldn't get past. The car performs well, but has no soul at all. No life. The sound is horrible. The engine is not awe inspiring at all. Nothing like the RS4.

Not to mention the monster trq and hp. RS4 has no trq. My bros 09 Cobalt SS turbo stock kept up with a RS4. On the other hand my stock Clk55 gives a good spanking on my bros Cobalt. It would be a waste to run my bros Cobalt with the C63.

No offense but the RS4 owner did not know how to race his car because an RS4 will easily kill a cobalt SS (stock).
I had an S4 with tune and downpipes and there is no comparison with a c63. Don't get me wrong, the new S4 is really nice but it is more a sporty car versus the C63 who is a beast. All depends what you are looking for.
The + for the S4 is a better interior, cool looking LEDs, smooth engine and transmission combo, better gas mileage and new TT engine has better mod potential than N/A 63.
The + for the C63 is better seats, stock exhaust that sounds unbelievable (you would have to spend about 1.5K with fast intentions to get better sound), considerably quicker and with a $1,200 tune you will be above 500hp, monster torque and response.
Drive both and you should be able to make your decision.

All good points. The C63 should be a nicer car than the S4 given the $15000 price difference. There is no substitute for the 6.2L V8's feel. I agree that for even money, the C63 is the better choice. However, there is a huge difference in leasing rates in favor of the Audi. I'm not sure if MB is offering $12,000 off the 2010 to even the odds. Hence, wondering what people here have had experience with Audis in general, regarding reliability, service, etc.

Last GEN RS4 looked awesome with the flared fenders....
Latest GEN looks droopy....but whateva......
You can't compare an S4 to a C63....a C63 walks on a S4 all day....that's worth $12K

I heard these were the comparisons for Audi/MB. That doesn't really add up since all the Audis out price the MBs. Either way C63 > S4. C63 vs RS4, is a much fairer comparison.

The RS4 handles better than the C63 but it gets a beating in the straight line 7mph difference.

Who says?? There is vid on youtube comparing an RS4 vs. ISF, and the ISF came up winner in the handling dep. Theres also vids of C63 vs. ISf and C comes up a winner in the handling dep. So C63>ISF>RS4. Thats how i see it. Am i wrong?

Good idea if you plan on driving a lot in the snow or in bad winter conditions.
But a supercharged 3.0 will never match the rawness and thrill of the C63.
Rear end looks a little lame.
Great front.
Car looks too long and too much like the base model.
Like my seats better
But why did they put a "T" besides the badge 3.0 on the side of the car. It's not turbo charged it's super charged. Looks like a ripoff / false advertising.
Still a great value

+1. i was considering the S4 also, but i do not like this fact stated above. i was also considering the CTS-v but i feel it also looks like the base model with a better hood. the S4 does not really separate itself from the A4 cosmetically, except for the emblems. they should have gave it a body kit or something
at the end of the day i believe the S4 is a great looking car that performs good but the C63 is a great looking car that performs great

Audi is the worst german car in everything.My uncle made an accident abt 9 months ago in a 2009 S8 the car cut in half he is lucky to be alive.He is still recovering in a hospital in germany.Its not abt the safety only everything abt audi is bad we had atleast 20 audi at our home for the past 10 years but we stopped after the accident....And the s4 is so over priced.

The new S4 is a great alternative to the bmw 335 not so much to C63.
C63,M3,RS4 are just a significant step up when we are considering the overall driving experience compared to a S4 or 335.
Even knowing the fact S4 is no where as exciting as a C63 i am still very tempted by the S4 due to its great potential for mod and wonderful 4wd that makes the car much more livable in the winter.
