i got beaten by a HONDA

I was driving on the highway and a honda pulled by me and kept trying to race me i said WTF!!! is wrong with him a honda!! WANTS TO RACE ME so i stomped it and he walked away from me very very easily it was from like 50-90mph.I raced him again at high speeds like from 100-140mph i gave him 1 car length.Maybe he ran out of NOS or his car is fast low speeds it seems like it have a big turbo.it shocked me at first how he beat me so easily.....

Time to get the LTs.

I just got stomped by a Mini Cooper S today. We were at the light (while I was admiring his BBS CHs) and when it turned green, both of us drove off normally and then he stomped on it. BTW.....I was driving my 190e that is lowered with 17" Loriners D93s for that "Old Skool" look. I guess he wanted to show me how fast his modern day turboed Mini was. Too bad I didn't have the 63 with me at the time.

I can't wait to see how fast the new 5.5 TT AMG engines they will be so easy to tune.Just tune the ecu to get more boost and if u didn't like it just put two larger turbo's and will see if anyone can beat you :p.turbo's are always the easy away and faster...

Some of these tuned Honda are quick. But again it's a Honda at the end of the day.

Those little Hondas are light as hell and with so much engine swaps and turbo options available, the power-to-weight ratio puts it up there with some of cars that "should" walk all over the Hondas. I have a friend with an EG, K20Z1 engine swap and heavily modded (cams, pistons, stroker kit, headers, exhausts, ECU, the works), gutted interior, and it looks absolutely STOCK on the exterior. He would beat moderately modded EVOs and STis and some M3s with no problem. His car probably weighed 2200 lbs tops.

Acceleration was crazy quick, but at higher speeds, they eventually lose out.

HMMM, the Honda days My Type R weighed 2300# and made 477whp on low boost. Needless to say it was quick from the roll The dig, not sooo much I made one 11.4@124 pass on low boost first time out and got booted for no cage. It would've went 10.80's@130ish, but didnt want to do the cage stuff. You can never under estimate the opponent...

And in his spare time, he can come over and cut your grass for you in record time.

Lighter car=faster acceleration.
Lighter car=faster annihilation in an accident.

Just saw this post on here:
https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...-vs-dodge.html

And at 80MPH he needs ear plugs to keep the cabin noise down below 100db.

Honda, the company that pioneered and then championed the use of variable valve lift and timing technology that virtually EVERY sportscar manufacturer has since adopted in some way to make their own cars perform better. Oh, and how many Formula One championships have they scored? Probably around the same number as Mercedes-Benz has. This is the same company that also introduced torque vectoring awd, a technology now also finding its way to Porsches and Audis. I'm not sure why it's such a big deal if anyone encounters a Honda that performs well on road or track. Some people need to get over the brand snobbery and open their eyes to the excellence that exists beyond the 3-point star.

+1

I'm always surprised with these type of posts. Lots of reasons for better acceleration at a given speed--all of them a tradeoff of some sort, and all of them dependent on context. Motorcycles will blow the doors off of cars, but no one would ever compare the two vehicles. To compare a Honda with unknown mods with a C63 based on only one performance parameter is similar in my opinion.

As always, it comes down to what you value in a car.

Well said! Give credit where it's due. People who look down on a car just because it's a Honda need to realize Honda's heritage, engineering, and deep involvement in racing. The original Honda S2000 engine has one of, if not the, highest naturally aspirated HP per Liter ratio with 120HP/Liter, and it redlines at 8300rpm. Let's see BMW, MB, Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, etc produce that kind of numbers.

The AP1 (original S2000) actually redlines at 9000 rpm.

Mine, with tuning, is set to 9500.

Those cars can be fast. The engines also can explode pretty fast.

touche to that. I ride a Harley because I like the steel and style. Most hog heads can't appreciate a Ducati or BMW like I do. They're missing out. Lottsa fine machinery out there.

All due respect to the 63 and 55, but the honda performance engienes work for the HP they put out. Both my Type R and the S2000 had the record for the highest specific output for NA engienes of their era. I think the 240 hp F20C still has that record.

Honda makes some of the most reliable production engienes. They pop when over-tuned, which is a problem not with the brand but the user.

I believe that has been bested by the new 458 Italia, which has a specific output of 126 hp per litre of displacement. But the Honda engines are still impressive nonetheless.
