Engine Oil Level light

Today I got a message said " I need check my engine oil level before next refuel" something like that.. But my car only has about 6800 miles with it. Did Anyone ever get the similar msg at this mileage? My car has K1.. Thanks!

Yes
Check the oil level.

If its OK, the dealer likely needs to replace your oil level sensor, common problem on these cars so far.

Get used to feeding your monster a little lubrication. Add 1/2 quart. If this is the first time you have added oil, consider yourself lucky. I have added three quarts over this same mileage interval in the past nine months since new.

If that's the case, Can I buy the engine oil from the store and add it myself? it doesn't sound too hard for me. Or you guys just ask dealer to do it? Thanks!

By all means, buy yourself some Mobil 1,

add the oil when you need to, that is, unless your dealer is going to give you free oil and service and you have the time to make the visit.

Either way. But, if you just stop by any MB dealer, they should be able to get your car in immediately to quickly add some oil @ n/c.

Yeah, those oil bottles can be a little tricky to handle, not to mention, opening the hood, hitting the hole, and putting the oil cap back on.

It's a little trickier than using search on here so I'd rate it a high level of difficulty for many.

Didn't say it was difficult to add oil yourself. Just that if you see the "oil low" message, it might be just as easy to swing by your nearest MB dealer and let them add a quart of oil for free! This happened to me a while back when I was running around Miami for work, and it turned out my nearest MB dealer was just 1 mi. away when my "low oil" message popped up. So, I dropped by, and the Service Mgr got my car in right away; 10 min. later, my car came back full of oil (at no charge) and clean from a quick car wash!

no more AMG
It does that. I had that happen around the same milage. You can add it yourself, or the dealership will top it off for free. They said it was normal.
