I have two V-1, two 9500iXs and one Redline. I am a frequent poster on RD.net and first let me say, Nice install. Big problem, however is that you'll get no rear LIDAR coverage nor front due to the HIGH placement of the unit. Lidar hits are on the front /bottom of the car, usually from the Front plate out or the headlights in, wherever they can get a "fix." To the rear, its usually the rear plate since thats always on a car and an easy target. They will also go for the tailights as well. Usually Lidar hits are ticket "notifiers" anyway, so it may be moot. (unless you're using LI countermeasures and Veil Coating as well). Radar tends to travel high, so your're in the best position for that. LIDAR and you're toast. It'll probably be OK for radar BUT not good at all for Lidar!
Should I lower mine?

As far as laser, it does not matter on a window mount detector. If your detector does happen to pick up a laser signal and you are traveling above the posted speed limit, you are going to get a ticket. Invest in a laser jammer if you want laser protection.

Mount as high as possible for best radar detection. Countless posts about this topic can be found over at radardetector.net. If you are serious about learning more, join that forum and spend some time researching.

I got my first ticket in 4 years on the 2nd day after I got my C63.
Now I am getting Escort Passport 9500ix and will probably do the same install, but on the left side. I figured this way it will be easier to reach and the rear laser port will be less obstructed.

Well it might still make some sense... what if I am going 100 and accelerating? If I see a laser hit, I will sure slow down. But if I don't, then I will keep going faster and the consequences likely will be much worse.

well depending where you are, if your going 100+ your license is gone anyway. If you get a laser hit your toast. forget about the lidar port. place it for the radar.
