C63 DTM Style Bumper
#226
Hey guys, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I have not heard back yet on how or if the fitment took place last week I'll try to find out ASAP where we are at with this bumper and the ETA. I'll let you guys know as soon as I hear anything.
P.S. That photoshop looks awesome C63_Guy! Fits really well with the rear fender flares.

Not trying to steal any of "nrgy's" thunder but I got these pics today from Revozport. They said the fitment was good and would produce them next week and ship asap.
He also said the mesh grills will be a different style and painted black.

But yep, the fitment looks great from the pictures! Revozport did mention they were going to make minor adjustments to the tooling to get an even better/perfect fit, and that they would be ready to ship next week like Dads C63 already mentioned. So it looks like the wait is finally over and just in time for summer.

Has Revozport tried to put on their "plow lip" on the bumper? Have they tried out that fitment, too?
I presume many of the forum members, who will buy the bumper, will want to use their CF lips.

Wow. I really like the overall look of it mounted, but the angle of the lip looks to be raked upward more than I'd like in this picture:
Especially when compared to this picture:
It could just be the angle of the bottom of the vents that's messing my perception up, but I was hoping that the lower portion of the lip would be flat relative to the overall bodyline of the car, like on the DTM safety car. Can we get a direct side view shot from a lower angle to see how this is really going to look?
Thanks and I hope I'm just seeing things,
Josh

For those of you that were concerned like myself how we were going to delete the stock fog lamps without throwing a check light don't worry about it. I unplugged both fog lamps and there are no trouble lights or "check lamp" lights, good news.
However, as soon as you remove the bulbs for the side markers you get a "check side marker light" note on the dash. This bulb is so small we probably won't have to worry about leaving it tied up under the front somewhere.
Josh,
You already removed your side markers. How did you fool the electronics into believing its still there or did you just tie it under the front somewhere?

I've got a resistor kit for the side marker lamps, but I haven't installed it yet. So I pretty much just end up clicking OK every time it gets dark. Not a big enough deal to do anything about at the moment...
A friend at MB says it's possible to deactivate the fogs and side markers through the star system, but he doesn't know the specific addresses. Anyone got that info?

YOU CAN TAKE TO DEALER AND HAVE THE FOGS PROGAMMED OUT OF THE THE FT SAM. C63 COME PROGRAMMMED TO TURN FOGS ON WHEN TURNING. GO LEFT THE LEFT FOG COMES ON GO RIGHT THE RIGHT COMES ON.. THEY WILL MOST LIKELY CHARGE YOU 89 DOLLAR DIAG FOR THE SDS HOOK UP AND PROGRAMMING. I WORK AS A TECH FOR MERCEDES BENZ, RBM OF ATLANTA NORTH FYI...

Hey Josh,
I've been talking to Ken about the bottom openings (furthest bottom right opening shown in the picture) and we're having a little bit of a misunderstanding. Do you know if they are in fact openings with mesh in them like the other -bigger- openings, or are these areas in fact filled, which is what Ken believes is the case?
Hope you can clear this up
Thanks

I think the lower ones should be filled or they may become too fragile on curbs and speedbumps...just my 2 cents plus tax

Seems the bottom spoiler should be lower.. right now, it looks like it is level with the side skirt.. Need better pics to really tell.
Also the bottom spoiler should be have the holes opened.. but then it would make it so easy to crack.

Yea I definitely agree that it would make that bottom part extremely fragile, but I went over a speedbump a bit too straight on with my oem bumper and cracked it the slightest bit not too long ago... Needless to say I've had the car in the shop waiting for this bumper to replace it ever since. With any sort of fiberglass/carbon fiber/FRP if you get any sort of a crack, big or small, there's really no way of repairing it to pre-crack condition.

Finally some closure!! How easy would it be to have a shop fabricate these guides? I already emailed Ken to make these openings and if it's too late I'd definitely want to try and make them fully functional. If it's not too late though, I'm definitely getting them filled in to be flush with the rest of the lip!
