Lowering the car for the Mile Run???
Good Afternoon,
Do any of you know or have experience with lowering these cars for the mile run?? I had the H&K Springs on the car and loved the way they looked but took them off because they were causing the rear tires to rub the rear fenders with weight in the rear and they were not good for drag racing. We are trying to set the car up for the mile run next month and I wanted to know if anyone here knows for sure if it will help achieve higher speeds with the lower springs. I know it will handle better but it may also give the car more of a rake front to back that may cause more down force on the front and less on the rear and therefore disrupt the air stream over the car. That may actually slow the car down because its increasing the front end down force while decreasing the rear down force. Anyone have experience on these cars or care to make a suggestion??

after 160mph the car gets real light up front. I would make sure you have a slight rake in the front. I ran a few 160 plus runs and it was not good until I lowered the front. I don't think that in one mile you will have to worry about the azz

Are u talking about the Feb 22 run at Dade-Collier thru VCA or the March T/M?
I'll 2nd rarfinancial about the car getting light at 160+ but for me it was the rear that lightened up, especially when braking and with a strong crosswind. Lowering all the way down was helpful. One interesting thing of note is that my speeds did not get better with lowering! Also my front rotors glazed after 15+ runs

Typically the lower to the ground the lower the air turbulence thus more stable at higher speeds... but I have no personal experience with the C63 as far is lowering it, I do on other past owned cars though.
What I would do is get coilover susupention and do the set up over and over. Something that you can do set up for Mile Run. For 1/4 mile it might be different. For front end getting lighter how about putting carnards or splitter on the front for light down force?

The VCA event was postponed until March 14th. There is another event the 6th we could get in but thats the same weekend as Pinks All out at PBIR. The March 6th event is a private event and costs $500. Would have to pre register and then risk losing it if we make it into the finals at Pinks. Oh well. Maybe Texas the end of March??
If you know of any other mile events in Miami let me know. You guys be safe.

Am I reading correctly that you are in the Pinks challenge? Wholly crap, are you risking your C63???
The event I was thinking of going is this one, it costs $150.00:

Correct, we are not racing for PINKS, they are filming an episode of PINKS ALL OUT at PBIR. As far as which event in Miami, there are 2 different sponsors running these 1 mile events:
milemarker1 and topgunrun. Same place, just different times. We attended one from the guys at Mile Marker 1, and not that impressed. So we'd like to try one from the Top Gun guys. We'll see..... Or maybe even run out to Texas for the Texas Mile event, they really seem to have their stuff together.

TopGunRun and MileMarker-1 have both confirmed that they do NOT have any events scheduled for February??? I don't understand? One of the best months of the year for mile runs in Florida and no one schedules an event???? CRAPP!!
