OBD-II Scan Tool :: Anyone with MB/AMG experience?
I've owned a host of Automotive scan tools over the years. Everything from GM's OEM Tech 2 handheld to the BMW-specific and PC-based Bavarian Technic cable/software combo.
I've never used one compatibile with a MB and want to have something before my next dyno.
I'm looking for something PC-based (so I can use it with my netbook) and leaning towards the AutoEnginuty cable/software (ProLine, ST06) -> http://www.autoenginuity.com/products-scantoolpc.html
Does any one have experience and/or suggestions?
Thanks!

You can purchase directly from AutoEnginuity or one of their retailers for $250 or less. You just need your own PC. They also sell an Enhanced/Expanded monitoring pack for MB that covers many more parameters for an additional $230 -> http://www.autoenginuity.com/product...ware.html#EI17
I'm not sure if the '10 C63 is covered or not or if the expansion is really needed but it looks very comprehensive.

Not sure why you think the MODIS is PC-based. It is a Windows CE (Handheld OS) powered handheld scanner. More details here -> http://diagnostics.snapon.com/modis
PC-based scanning soultions are far cheaper (no need for hardware other than the cable/adapter) and are often just as expansive in their capabilities.

And you could have searched for your answer:
https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...enginuity.html
But I guess that is too much to ask.
I'm just not sure why the hoopla either over a tool that is likely 1/4 (or less) your vehicles monthly lease payment....

Now your assumption I am leasing is just silly and unfounded.

If you want it as a tuner's tool, again, why not just have bought the $250 Autoenginuity and be done with it? That is if you are making as much as you seemingly claim to.
Have a nice night, again, though an angry one I bet.

How often it is used?
PC connectivity (which most have)?
Upgradeability?
Depth of information (live stream, freeze frame, etc)?
The best option is the Autoenginuity, there isn't anything to my knowledge at that price, that does what it does for mercedes.
