From the pictures, there is definitely a 5mm buffer on the outside, but maybe not on the inside.
The place where I am getting everything installed is also a high end body shop (the guy used to run the Mercedes Benz body work at a dealer here too), I'll take my chances with 275 even if it requires what I feel to be minor work. I think the extra traction will be worth it.

Yes he is the guy forgestar was talking about needing some fender work to fit 275.
Thinking about it I have now opted for 235/19/35 and 265/19/30 as suggested by forgestar. I will return my current Potenza RE11 tires in exchange (still at the shop). Hopefully they have the new size for the same model.

The seat mounts on the factory bolts are ball type. ForgeStar used what looks to be a 60 degree taper. These are not compatible and can't be safely run together as only a small amount of the bolt will actually contact the seat in this situation. So just a note to any owners that are going to buy the wheels to budget and plan ahead for correct length bolts 14x1.5x25 having 60 degree taper seats. Not to mention that the factory bolts look hideous with these wheels, something polished will look much better.
I did have the opportunity to drive it around a bit with some bolts from another car that fit the bill. No rubbing so far and I don't think there will be any problems with the Vredesteins in this size. I'm actually wondering if a 295 would fit. Somebody's going to have to try. Keep in mind though that Vredestein runs small so this likely would not work with other tire brands.
As far as how they felt. Decent grip, not on par with the highest performance tires but not bad. I will say that the car seemed to be a bit squirmy. May have to play with tire pressures or they may just not have the sidewall strength of other performance tires in the UHP category. With that being said, I spend a fair bit of time at the track and push pretty hard.

That photo of the C63 with the Forgestar rims has had a considerable amount of work carried out on the rear fenders.
A +50 offset on a 10inch rim is too aggressive for the car. Why have 10inch rims and then have to fit skinny tyres?
I have 20x10 inch rims on the rear which came with a +51 offset and the edge of the lip was inline with the outer edge of the fender when trial fitted, with 285/25 tyres (Yokohama Advan Sport) it scrubbed so badly it wasn’t practical to drive it. Plus lowering the car was an impossibility.
I had the fenders pulled out by 5mm and 5mm shaved off the base plate of the rims to make them fit without scrubbing. I didn’t have the fender lips rolled so as the keep the integrity (strength) of the fenders and to retain the stock look. It worked a treat.
Something you should note is that there is a 10mm clearance between the inside of the rim and the inner fender with a +51 offset. The inner fender isn’t metal, it’s a type of soft felt and even though I didn’t need to after doing the mods, it is easily cut away with a knife if necessary. If I was to re-order new 10inch rims, to replace the ones I now have, I’d be looking at a +55/56 offset. It allows a larger tyre with better outer fender clearance and still allows enough room to clear on the inside.

What are the stock bolt specs? Is the 25mm shank mentionned accurate?

Yes, I am running stock suspension. The HR springs lower the rear a bit too much and it doesn't have the correct rake front to rear with these installed. I may change out to coilovers but that will be a bit later, lots of other goodies coming in the mean time.
The correct spec is 14mm x 1.5 Thread Pitch @ 26mm Length. That will leave about 1 thread out the back side.
Regarding wheel offsets. I'll need to confirm ours however it seems to me that they could have brought the wheel in a little closer towards the suspension allowing for a bit larger tire size. I can still light these up fairly easily on acceleration. My goal is to get the car hooked up a bit better and running an affordable tire. Kleeman mods come next and it's only going to get worse!
FWIW, I'm still really considering the 18" Forgestar to leave me with a lighter tire / wheel package and still run the widest tire I can. What I will say is that the 19" wheels look fantastic. I have Gunmetal on a Black C63. Once the rain stops and I get the bolts lathed down to fit, I'll post a pic since I know a few guys wanted to see them.
