My C63 - 1st month impressions

Likes:
1. Engine

2. Engine

3. Exhaust note (sounds wonderful, but contributes to lower gas milage)

4. Suspension (non P30) feels nice - not to hard, but not too soft
5. AMG leather seats
6. AMG steering wheel
7. Corner lamps at night
8. Interior - I have absolutely no problems with it. It's not like a CLS63, but does not cost over $100k either!
9. Love the styling of the car!!
Opportunities:
1. Gas mileage - could be better, but could be worse. Knew this when I bought the car and is worth the price of admission....you have to feed the beast
2. iPod / sound system / Nav integration is light years behind the Japanese competitors

Unknowns:
1. OEM Tire wear - not a problem as of yet, but based upon this boards consensus, it most likely will be in the future

2. Reliability - only time will tell, but am getting the extended warranty. This is my first MB and hopefully will last a long time!
This is the best DD I have owned and hope that it only gets better as I spend more time with the car. Many thanks to this forum for letting me lurk for so many months before taking the plunge.....there really is a wealth of information on this board!!.......Kurt

I loved the Viper but never drove it as I did not want anything to happen to it. Had it for over 10 years and put right at 10k miles on it. I hated to see it go and did not have to sell it, but decided that with the C63 I could have "Viper like performance" in a daily driver!! Loving it so far
I agree on the the navigation and overall audio quality. I find it OK, but not as good as others. My 2005 Acura RL was significantly better in both categories.
i was at the dealer yesterday, and hes really helpful to me, this was the direct sales manager, and he was willing to let it go for invoice, minus the $1500 usaa discount. so it would have been 66,722 with p2 keyless go Amg seating and the lighting and carbon fiber interior trim. msrp was 72,722

) Congrats, you made a great choice. Mine has been super reliable - drive it when my new BMW is in the shop
Like, I mean, it isn't slow, but compared to a few of my previous cars (sure, they were forced induction), the C63 just doesn't give me that "in the pants" feeling when accelerating.
If yes, do you find an exhaust/tune fixes that?

But yes, NA vs. S/C vs. Turbo definitely have different "surge" characteristics.
OP, my next car (my dream car since I was a little kid) will be a 99-02 Viper. Hopefully I'll be able to keep that one forever. The C55 is the daily....

Sometimes I wonder how it will compare to my turbocharged 6200 lb Silverado. Best G-Tech is 12.776 sec. @ 104.82 mph with a 1.823 60 foot. I think it will spin the tires more easily and certainly handle circles around the truck (I hope). Truck launches in 4X4 with no traction issues.
