Door pins
I just bought these, what do you guys think?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AMG-C...Q5fAccessories
Sounds stupid, but all I need to do is have the doors unlocked, pull up slightly, and turn to left to get the stock ones out right? My OEM pins are REALLY tight, don't want to break anything

Whoa...they look awesome; great find!!!
Please let us know if all 4 fit; particularly the 2 rears as I wouldn't mind spending only $65 for a set of these as opposed to $200 for the oem brushed ss AMG door lock pins which cost ~ $20 to make.

Sorry to tell you but they will not fit the rear without serious modification. The back pins are pressure fit- not screw on like the front. This is a major design flaw on Mercedes's part and they have not rectified it. At first release, the W204 rear pins would pull off when someone tried to unlock the back doors. The pins would crack at the bottom so they could not be re-attached. They improved the strength of the plastic used in the oem plastic pins but they are still crappy plastic pins. Check the regular W204 section for mods and step-by-steps for this.

Yeah - double check fitment.
Drawde and I were about to split a set a while back off Ebay but seller told me not to buy them because they wont fit our cars. He said the fronts wouldnt even work. Not sure if theyve made changes since then - that being said I literally just ordered my OEM AMG door pins.

It's not a design flaw. The front doors don't need to have the pins because pulling the handle provides the unlock function. The rear doors do not do this... without the pins exposed on the rear doors, if the vehicle's power was cut (ie: accident) you wouldn't be able to unlock the door to escape!

Is this the same case with the OEM rear door pins?

How is that not a design flaw?
I got locked in the back of my car. I just had major shoulder surgery and had climbed in the back seat to clean it. I was wiping the door sill and accidentally locked the door by bumping the lock button on the remote. When I tried to unlock the door the pin pulled off and I was unable to unlock the door. I leaned across the seat and tried the other door. That pin pulled off too. Because of my shoulder, I was unable to reach the front door handles. I was stuck in the car until my wife came home (about an hour).

FWIW, you can order "euro" door lock pins for the front doors from the dealer for about a dollar each.

To OP- sorry for the hijack
I agree with that. The pins in the rear should protrude from the door so you can unlock it. They just need to be more attractive.
I don't know if there was or was not a problem with the strength of the rear door pins at one time or another. What I am suggesting is that the rears are intentionally fixed (rather than threaded like the front ones) to prevent swapping to a recessed door lock pin for the reasons we both acknowledge.

FYI to the OP and everyone else -- I sent an e-mail to the Ebay seller of these AMG replica door pins, and got the following response...
"These door pins can only be screw on, if the back ones are not, it will not fit." So, sorry, I guess the only ones that will work are for the front doors.

Ok so let me get this right - im at work and ive never looked in my backseat -
The only way to unlock the rear doors is to pull up on the pin or have the front passenger unlock everything?

I believe the rear doors will open when if you pull the handle (inside) and the child proof lock is not engaged. If the child proof lock is engaged then your only way is to pull the pin or unlock from the front.....

but does changing the door pins to the AMG oem pins disable this?
Im thinking it still works because u keep the inner pin as opposed to other previous people who hav removed the entire assembly.

i just had the amg door pins installed by my dealer. they said it was quite eassy, but when i got the car back, the rear left actually popped off. so they took them off again and used a silicone type of glue to get them to stay. they look so much better than the stock. I do like the one's from this thread, but i don't have carbon fiber, so i'm not sure they'd look right.
I'll post some pictures in a day or so. I just got my car back after EUro delivery about 5 weeks ago.

Looks like they are back in stock at getmercedesparts.com. I placed my order last wednesday and they were shipped yesterday and arriving today.
My 10 month quest for door pins has finally ended.

That is correct... but the rear doors do not unlock by pulling the handles (as the front doors do), regardless of the child lock settings.
