is the warranty worth it?
What are the different warranty time and milage options for the C63 AMG? And is an extended warranty worth the money on these cars?

I bought the M-B 3-year extended warranty to take the car to 7/100...something I have never done in the past for any kind of product much less a car. Really, it's a hedge against a major (read expensive) engine or transmission repair. Perhaps it'll pay for itself in minor repairs. It's a tough call at about $1,500 per extra year but I'll sleep better at night because I have it.

How long are you planning to keep your car? You can buy the extended warranty up to the time the original warranty expires. By then you will know your future plans or if the warranty will help sell your car. You will have 4 years of history so you will have a better idea of what it might cost in the future. If the electrical bits fail they can be expensive to replace if rebuilt parts are not available. I would recommend waiting until the original 4 year warranty is about to expire to make this decision.

^^^^ exactly. There are many reports about the downside of buying a extended warranty ahead. I get one mandatory finacial briefing a year (becase of my job) and they always brief us about the downside of purchasing extended warranties. Is not that they are bad, it is the timing, sometimes you don't really need them and often you wouldn't even have the car.

Yes i plan on keeping the car, but I wasn't sure how many different warranties the dealer offered and how much they cost. I am picking my car up on Wednesday.

The dealer will be happy to fill you in on the warranty plans that are available. My dealer advises on waiting to get the extended warranty until the original warranty is about to expire. Good luck with whatever you decide. One thing about getting it up front you can finance it. I still would not get it up front.

To the OP: If you do get the warranty up front, remember that if you sell or get rid of the car prior to using any (or the full amount) of the extended warranty, you can get the full (or pro-rated) portion you paid for it refunded.

i wonder if warranty is worth it for those people that may not drive that many miles in one year and actually hit the time first. i will have had my C63 for 2 years this May and I only have 6000 miles right now. i figure mileage is what might affect the car more through wear and tear than time. what was the standard MB warranty, 4 years/50k?
