With my last car (a 1997 MB SL320), I had a tow hitch and towed a small trailer (up to 1,600 lbs max. laden ) without any problems or damage to the car.
In Europe, we were always towed with much smaller vehicles without any problems, but North America considers only trucks/SUVs as tow vehicles (certainly, for any heavy trailers and loads, I would agree).
As long as your towing weight is below the vehicle's calculated towing weight, then I would say a C63 with its torque, is an ideal towing vehicle.
More than one available in Europe for C63. Here is one :

By the way, I'm currently trying to get a tow hitch for my SL55 AMG.

You can not tow a trailer/race car with your C63
it will destroy your tranny and diff
ML have no problem to do it as long is below the limit
Go get a used truck to tow, at least a 6 cylinder one

Don't listen to people that have no clues like ELO. As long as you stay within the specs of what you car can tow, there are no issues. It is done quite often in Europe and installed by Dealers.

The only way to tow a race car is with SUV or Truck
I seen those European towing, Original from Sweden
If you have seen those accident that they get into
you would just shut your mouth and sit back
If you want to die fine by me, but don't send other people to the slaughter house.
You have to be prepare for all kind crap we face here on US Freeways. What you just going to tow a straight line?
If you plan to tow the single axel one is even worst with a short wheel base car. Try to make a quick move around 55MPH then you would know
Check out all racer what kind of vehicle they tow with.
Tow a a tire dolly fine but a flatbed trailer with a car on it?

Yes the dual axels are much more stable but then you would kill your tranny and diff very fast.

I have been towing for 40 years using only cars, both in Europe and in North America. Accident-free in all that time.
Never wanted a "BIG" vehicle, but made a mistake once, several years back, of buying a Mercedes-Benz ML320. Big regret! Mercedes were very helpful at that time in permitting me to return the 1 -2 year old ML for a new C230 Kompressor Sport at no charge. One of the reasons why Mercedes_Benz is one of my favourite manufacturers, and I have owned several dozen cars, such as Lotus, Jaguar, Alfa, Porsche 930/Carerra/and 928, Ferrari, BMWs, etc., all used for towing, except the Ferrari.
I would agree that if you want to tow heavy loads (say over 1600 lbs), then I have to agree that this can only be safely done with a heavy truck/SUV.
By the way, there are even towbars available for my 1970 Fiat 500 Abarth and my wife's Brabus Smart. It is all in calculating your towing weight and that it is considerably less than your tow-vehicle's weight.

We are talking about towing a flatbed trailer with a car on it. It will be over 1600lbs

Ideally, a truck or an SUV is always a smart choice for towing that boat or camper. Even a compact pickup like a Ford Ranger or Chevy Colorado is going to be better than just about any car. For heavier loads (say more than 4,000 pounds) a half-ton truck like a Ford F-150 or Chevy Silverado will meet the needs of just about any of the trailer-towing basics we're discussing here. But even among half-ton trucks, towing ability can vary. For example, an F-150 with a 5.4-liter V8 will have a much easier time towing a 5,000-pound load than one with a 4.6-liter V8 because it simply has more horsepower and torque. Furthermore, the engine isn't the only thing that can handle a heavier load. The transmission, brakes and rear axle are also upgraded, along with the larger engine. Beyond a typical half-ton truck, a three-quarter (such as an F-250) or one-ton (F-350) can handle loads well beyond 5,000 pounds. For example, an F-250 with a 5.4-liter V8 and 3.73 gears is rated to tow 12,500 pounds. Properly equipped, an F-150 is rated to tow 8,000 pounds with a 5.4-liter V8, an automatic transmission and 3.55 gears

That weight is like what 400 lbs for the bike and 700 for the trailer
Do the math for a racecar +flatbed trailer

My FF2000 car on lightweight trailer (pictured earlier in post) had a total weight (car + trailer) of under 1600 lbs., and under 200 lbs tongue weight.
I'm only suggesting, from my humble experience, that you can use the C63 and similar, for towing, if you manage your weights safely and correctly. A lot of people myself included), do not want to own a truck/SUV, and if requiring to tow occasionally, like to be able to use their road car.
