Girlfriend getting a C63!
hello MB mates, so my gf is in the market for a new car, she currently drives a 99 C230K, and 2008 IS250 Lexus. She was looking at G55's but i showed her a white C63 and she fell in love with it. But my concerns are; she never drove a such high power car, she is a really good driver and loves to speed but i kinda don't want her killing herself lol. Anyway we went and looked at a white C63 with tan interior and its sticker is at $68,900 i believe, what should i try to knock off? I convinced her to keep the C230K as a winter car and trade in the IS250 and pay the diff. And she is only 20year old with an ok driving record, any idea how much her insurance should run? thanks for your input

If she is going to get it, a must would be a track racing class. It will allow her to get a good feel of the car in a safe environment and learn the basics. It's also a good hobby to get into to avoid killing yourself on public roads with that type of car...

Well if she wants to drive it in comfort mode, the car is very easy to drive and smooth. Even in sport mode for shifting with the sport ESP setting I find the beast very tamable. I'd mostly be worried about her going too fast on a crowded road and ramming into a truck.

One thing you have to be aware of is that while driving the C63 you have much more capability than most cars out there. While you may be able to reduce your braking distances, the car behind you probably can't. You could cause an accident, if the other guy panics when you pull out in front/make a sudden lane change/accel.

I don't understand what is the problem. I'm 21 now, got my C as a gift a year ago. Since last year I drove 86ooo km and nothing happened to me or the car. I think it depends on the maturity of the driver, not his/her age.
And believe me, I am not ashamed of the fact that I got the car from my father as a gift. I treat the car as a symbol of trust. And I admit I would never afford such a car at this point in time.
I am not saying that I am an excellent and errorless driver, but I am aware of my responsibilites to my passengers and other users of the road. I've driven many different cars from C180 Kompressor, through CLK320 and GL420 cdi, to CLS500. I think at the age of 21 you can have a propper driving experience and enough "oil in your head" (a Polish saying - it means you think and act responsibly) to drive such a car.
I know that sometimes a 20-year-old C63 driver due to his stupidity and immaturity can lead to an accident and endager other people(look at bushburnin63 's sig). However, it is not always the case.
And I am sure there are more C63 daily drivers on this forum, who are still considered minors in some states.

no hating, just a suggestion. I use to drive pretty crazy back around that age, I've tamed down a lot. Also I was going off the "she has an ok driving record" This dictates to me that she got caught speeding or have been in an accident.

When I was 16 all I could drive was a Suzuki LTZ400 quad in the forest
In Poland you can get your license at the age of 18.
Congrats on the car
