Continental ContiSportContact 5P
Guys,
Anyone have any review or feedback for the new continental tyre?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jc8Sck5mI1I
Apparently these tyres came with my new car from factory.
I noticed the tread depth is very thin, compare to P-Zero.
I do feel the tyre is quiet sticky, but i do hope these tyres can last more than 5000km.
Anyone who has experience with this tyre on 63 or other cars, please let me know how it performs in wet/dry and top speed run.
Thanks.

My 2010 C63 were delivered with these tires on the optional 19'.
So far I have been extremely happy with them. 4000 km with plenty of thread left and I punish my car a lot. Great hook up in the dry and decent performance in the wet (as decent as it can get with 450 HP at the wheels).
I would seriously consider buying these tires again when they need replacing but probably upgrade to 275s.

5P has not been officially released here in Australia.
Officially only released in Germany last month..
This is from German site
http://www.continental-reifen.de/gen..._csc5p_de.html
I dont think there is any Comparison between 5P and other tyres yet.
So far I'm VERY pleased with this Tyre... it is Awesome.

just installed-tire rack
I installed a set of front and rear from tire rack earlier this week on my SL63. Replaced the bridgestone factory tires that had worn to the belts on the passenger rear side.
First impression is very positive with these tires. For starters the road noise was noticeably quieter than the bridgestone. Although I have no idea how these will wear, i'm expecting them to do better than the bridgestone. The tires do grip-i can testify to that-some 90 year old plowed through an intersection earlier this week and I had to pull an evasive maneuver to avoid an accident-the tires were super in that regard.

I have 6200 km on mine, in all conditions except heavy rain and they have performed very well. They seem to be quite progressive and give good warning before coming to the edge of traction. I hope they come out with more sizes because they had limited choices the last time I looked on Tire Rack.
Mine measured 9/32" tread depth when I got them and have ~ 6/32" tread depth now except the edges seem closer to 5/32". If I wear them down to the suggested 3/32" wear bars and they wear at the same rate I should get 10000 to 12000 km on them. (6250 to 7500 miles).
The last 3/32" may go up in smoke.
