Xpipe Question

Gentlemen,

Im thinking of an expipe install in place of my secondary cats. I have 2 questions:

1, will the cat delete change the exhaust note? and if yes how much louder?
2, What improvement can one expect from an Xpipe for the C63?

Would appreciate any info and dyno results I tried to search the forum couldnt find anything TIA

I have tested this out issue with my buddies C63

1. did you want to change the x-pipe for power or for sound?

2. to get good power the primary cats needs to be deleted but for this you will need a cat delete file. email alex@gintani.com for that.

3. by deleting the cats and putting in drop in K&N your car will be easily about 20-25% louder but no much sound inside the car.

Here is a nice vid I made of a good sound! enjoy

Im looking for power and hope that it doesnt change the sound too much. Im also contemplating installing an Xpipe to my ML63. There is room in that one and it will not necesitate removing cats like in the C63

Well if power is what you want then the primary cats has to go to make good power.

but like I mentioned a cat delete software has to go with it or else you will get a CEL

To the OP, have you already done an ECU upgrade? If not, that is your fastest/safest/cheapest way to get ponies w/o sound. I used Kleemann, but sounds like they are all about the same (give or take).

Easily gave me 40whp/10wtq w/o any noticable noise changes.

Xpipes will definitely make your car sound different...it will be a little louder because the stock exhaust not is dampened...you can hear the echo of the exhaust throught the xpips.

tnx miami1lt I actually did an ecu flash but was dissapointed with the results, less the 10 whp the company said they would revise it im waiting for the new file and take it from there. the vmax delimit was great though. re the Xpipe ill hold on for now and see what happens after I get the new file tnx
