Gumball rally car impounded for speeding on 401
At least one driver in the Gumball 3000 Rally should have taken the Ontario Provincial Police warnings about speeding more seriously.
The driver of a 2009 Dodge Charger from California was stopped along Highway 401 in the Marysville area for travelling at 140 kilometres an hour, given a ticket and cautioned about speeding.
About two hours later, along Highway 401 in the Brighton area, the same Charger was stopped again for going over 170 kilometres an hour in a 100 zone.
Police say this time he was charged with stunt driving, had his licence seized for seven days and had his vehicle impounded.
