Brad, doesn't drilled save a bit of weight as well? But then the invariable cracking between holes is an issue - slotted only is the way to go wouldn't u agree?

None fast enough!
Luke, you are right as usual on both accounts. Drilled will lose some weight, but you also lose some life. For the street it is a worthwhile compromise for the look. For the track, you would never run them. Slotted or even some flat discs are far better.

thanks

Gotcha- surface area vs venting/disipation of heat is always a tough compromise. I do agree though, slotted and drilled looks awesome as do those hats. I'll be getting a set pretty soon.

Your car is becoming one of the nicest c63s in the PNW (along with AVB of course lol). Let us know how they hold up! I'm always wary of cross-drilled/dimpled aftermarket rotors.

no more AMG
Great right up super. Once I need to get my brakes done, I might just go with this option.

Well Wayne your excellent review helped me make my decision. I just ordered these from James a few days ago and hopefully will have them in a few weeks. I see Evosport also sells the SS brake lines for this as well for $299 I believe? What do you think? is it worth it to get them installed? Did you have Carb Conn install these for you or RD?

Thanks again as always for all your great info.

Awesome.

I did not opt for the SS lines. I was really focused on the unsprung weight reduction. If I was going to road race often I would certainly add them. RD did the work.

for those that installed these brake rotors, i think they are pretty bad. they seem to have less metal which means more brake fade/high brake temperature. the vains are wider than the stock ones. you get what u paid for...

Gaz393,

I appreciate your contribution, but you should get facts and not assumptions. There are hundreds of customers on this forum with our rotors, and not one has experienced what you posted as an example (on a 2500 HD Chevy Truck).

Further, I am sure you realize that even Mercedes offers a lighter 2-piece rotor on their own performance package? Are you implying that the factory's own upgraded performance brake package is inferior to the entry level option?

While the like and video you posted may be relevant to some products for other vehicles (such as inexpensive rotors for full size American trucks), it is simply not applicable to our product for AMG vehicles.

Thanks
Brad

Hi Brad,

Are the rotors in stock or is there a order waiting time?

Brad, Do you have replacement rotors without the aluminum hat? How much are they? Usually, multi-piece rotors like these are also investments, since you save on cost when it comes time to replace the rotor, by re-using the aluminum hat.

Yes, evosport has replacement performance rotors for AMG models with the Performance Packages.

They are better since they are lighter and the cooling vents are directional to each specific side, unlike the AMG Performance Package rotors.
