Finally did it--AMG family here I come.

Hey guys,

I've been reading (mostly) in this forum for almost two years now and I have finally decided it's time to "tame the beast."
I was getting my service A done (for my CLK) at the dealership and asked my salesman to try and find a C63 with what I wanted for options.
I've searched the normal car websites weekly and there wasn't a perfect fit anywhere in my vicinity.
One in CA that would work, but it has aluminum trim inside (not a fan).
But I live on the east coast, so the shipping would have been around $1500 to get it here and I'd still have to replace the trim for a couple grand.

So, I put in my order and deposit for a 2011 with exactly what I wanted and it will go into production the first week in July and hopefully arrive toward the end of August. Luckily, they had a C63 already in their build sheet, so we just made the changes to the option list and done.
Here's my option list and it appears that there are some package and pricing changes for some of the options:

2011 Blk 040/blk interior ($???)
Prem. AMG leather Pkg ($???)
CF Trim ($???)
p31 AMG Devlp pkg (of course) ($6050, not $5950)
rear camera ($460 not $450)
Lighting package (new? code 319) ($985)
Multi media ($3350 not $3300)
limited slip (should be standard) ($2030 not $2000)
heated seats ($750)

No PO2, I guess the 319 replaces it, so the rear sun shade is it standard or delete, I don't know, what's in the lighting package? No info yet.
MSRP is not listed either, hopefully MB won't pump us too much.
And the CF Trim and the Premium leather prices are also not listed.

Well, I look forward to officially joing the group in a few months and I will keep everyone posted on any info on the 2011's, as I get any info!

Congrats to you. I basically ordered the same car two weeks ago, except no CF package. Have the last 10 day of june production date. Did your dealer give you any more info on whether the car will have the LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights, or what exact engine it will have?

You're going to get a 2011 C63 AMG in August? I thought that the heated seats were included as standard too? I'm also waiting on details since I cancelled a 2010 after delivery date problems. Thanks for the info.

The heated seats are a separate option on the 2011. Pricing is not out for the 2011 yet.

Congrats!!! btw -- don't you want the MB 'Keyless Go' (no key entry/push button start)? If my '09 C63 AMG had the Keyless Go as an option, I would've opted for it; it's one thing that we have on our '08 GL450 that I miss on my '09 C63 AMG.

Thanks for the congrats.
no keyless go, call me old fashined but I like turning the key to start the car.
if it was included that would have been fine, but not for $1000+, different strokes for different folks, plus the damn car already costs too much

No info on the LEDs or engine, didn't even bother to ask, my expeirence with salesman is that I know more than they do about things like this.
But the lighting pkg is an interesting thing that may have something to do with it, I don't know, just speculation.
The engine better be the 6.2 liter otherwise I want my $ back
I guess I'd have to hear the new engine and feel it in person to be sure, but we got better chance of an astroid wiping out the planet than MB getting the new motor in th C for 2011 (just my opinion)

yes the heated seats are an add on option $750 (according to my paperwork)

gselz, my dealer told me that MB plant was closed for the entire month of June, are you sure your car's build date is late June?

Maybe my dealer was just BS-ing
BTW: what did the dealer tell you for estimated arrival for yours?
Personally, I thought only two months from the time it goes into production and I receive it here is quite fast--any input anyone?

Pretty sure it is the last 10 days of June. I saw it on the salesman's computer screen when he modified the car that was currently slotted there for me. He also told me I should get the car 5 weeks later, so sometime in the beginning to middle of August.

Do you know exactly what the development package is going to have? I basically couldn't get any answers.

I'm asuming it will be the normal stuff from 2010, but you never know, plus they're charging another $100

I thought it would be the same as 2010, but it says 27+ hp and 74lb-ft torque increase on my order form, and on the 2010, it had +30HP and no torque increase. I am just confused. Just have to wait until they finalize everything, I guess.

hmmm...my paper doesn't have the details from each pkg, maybe you can see that on their computers--I kinda remember someone posting about this (maybe you). Either way 27 or 30hp I don't care, but then again they're charging us $100 more for 3hp less, man those germans are sneaky

haha--I looked up that post and remembered reading it before.
I agree it's kinda cool, but I think I can put the money toward something else like mods or those multi-spoke rims I want
Plus, this is not my daily driver, I won't be lugging groceries in it too much, it's for

No LED daytime running lights for MY11 - the car retains the round fogs.

I don't know how you guys do it, ordering a car and then have to wait months before taking delivery of it.

It's like going without sex or self gratification.

Believe me it's not by choice--there just isn't anything left on the lots with options I wanted. There's a lot (no pun intended) of cars out there in the high $60s, but I've waited this long, I want what I want

Plus, another added bonus, there won't be twenty test drives on the clock and I can do a proper break-in, after that giddy up!!
