I'd save the 250 and get the Nittos, and get the 275 vice the 265.

An independent comparison here -> http://www.trackhq.com/forums/showth...3495#post23495

A previous/similar discussion here -> https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...63-anyone.html

After a lot of research online I chose the NT05s.

Price is fine, and no rubbing even with passengers and a full trunk.

Had Star Specs on my C32, they grip so well that I had a impression that my gas mileage became worse compared to when I had SP Sport Max

Heard others said that top end acceleration suffer abit too, want to go back to my college physics professor and ask about the difference between rolling resistance/traction/friction? LOL

i just got some star spec 245/275 on my stock rims and they are amazing tires. The grip is out of this world... they just don't let go. One of the best street tires tat you can autocross and track with.

You think the 285/35/18 NT05 will work with a 0.75inch drop? I know they run skinny.

star specs hands down... they literally have the grip of R-compounds and very strong sidewalls for great feedback. They are the best tire on the market hands down.

Have you had an opportunity to compare/test the two personally? What specifically about the NT05s did you not like? I'd love to hear some more independent feedback/data. The only independent comparison I've read so far was the link I posted above . . . that user set a new class/course record on the NT05s.

Well as of a few weeks ago it was #1 on the extreme performance summer category on Tireracks site:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...ay.jsp?type=EP

I guess recently it just got bumped to #2. Haven't had a chance to test the RE-11s to compare directly but having been through many brands... it blew most of them out of the water, they are certainly a heck of alot better than Pilot Sports PS2s which are junk by comparison (and cost almost 1.5x the price).

I am curious to test the Kuhmo XS as it did produce the highest skidpad reading Tirerack has ever tested on any tire. It appears in dry conditions it has the most grip (even more than Z1, but it suffers in the wet more so it didn't get the better overall rating. The Z1s are definitely better than the MXs (although the MXs aren't that bad, just softer sidewalls). I will be trying these next to compare as I do like the idea of software sidewalls w/ more dry grip and a relatively quiet tire.

Here are the test results between some of the other tires in the category:

Too bad Tirerack doesn't carry or test Nitto tires. I would have loved to seen some additional data directly comparing the two.
