Aftermarket Rear spoiler...

discuss...

IMO, if that prodcut isn't design for C63, it won't be very functional.. Your thoughts?

I'm sorry but that spoiler is just too ricey and a shame to put that on C63 AMG if it is for daily drive. If this is mainly for track then it is a different story.

Thats mine! It give good amount of down force at the track for sure. But one the street for sure you dont need it.

C63 is good car to run at the track. C class in Europe DTM, Superstar V8, etc alot of C class car is coming out. Need to beat M3!

I like that small one also. If you go to track it should big help.

I am wondering if the effect of a non-specifically-designed wing can actually be felt even on the track.

IMO the larger wings server more of a visual purpose than an aerodynamic one. If one looks at genuinely quick cars that WERE designed with wings, both active or otherwise, they tend to be quite small and not as aerodynamically aggressive as aftermarket ones.

Take the 997TT's active rear wing. It's probably one of the largest out there. It is nowhere near the angle and size of some of the monstrosities on offer.

For race cars (DTM, etc.) it's another matter. Drivers are waaaaaay better than you or I and of course all the telemetry and so on means you can actually tune the wing to produce the best drag/down-force compromise. Something that I don't feel is so necessary for our daily commute.

Besides, unless it's designed with one, adding a rear wing to a car is a bit... umm....

Anyway, each to his own.

I think if you could get the smaller one in the original post in C/F that would look hot on certain color cars.

Especially ones with a C/F hood already.

I agree but I have to say that the first spoiler pic from quicktwinturbo looks like it was bought at walmart or maybe it came with a happy meal for an extra dollar.

I totally agree...

It's a MKB spoiler made for E55/63... Owner claims noticable downforce...

just reviewed the offendind picture above this morning. (yes I know I have a lot of time on my hands).

Is this picture for real?

Tho spoiler doesn't apeear to have even sideblades on the left and right...

Maybe that's just the lens distorsion or maybe it's really home made

Is this guy running big oval races?
