anyway I hate everything about the garbage can plastic interior, but it is a c class after all, can't expect s class finish in a c class.

The expense to mod it. Coming from a US motorhead backround the price to do anything to the C63 is absurd.
Other than that... hmmm... Not much really. The car im driving for the price I paid is simply amazing.

Of course, making these changes would strengthen the C63 relative to it's direct competitors (eg, M3), thereby giving the whole AMG lineup more attention, street cred, and sales. MB may be missing an opportunity here ...

My only complant about the C63, is the fact that it eats rear tires. I already knew about the gas mileage, as I have an E63 with the same engine. Oh, and they put the seat lumber controls in a weird spot, as they should be mounted on the seat just below your thigh, near the door.

- Better premium sound system I come from a background (way back actually) of big, relatively expensive aftermarket sound systems (and I'm sure my hearing has paid the price) but the C63's system can make you go deaf on it's own and with very little harmonic distortion. I agree that it gets loud, but the sound quality isn't as good as my previous MBs.
- Engine sound at high revs isn't as pleasant as a BMW (bracing for howls of disagreement ...) Insert Quinton "Rampage" Jackson to disagree on my behalf.
I love the sound up to about 5k rpms, but it sounds a bit screamy to me above that.
- Reprogram to get the full power out of the engine P31? P31 would be nice (I don't have it
), but I'm thinking about how to get over 500 hp.
- Faster acceleration immediately off the line (ie, more immediate throttle response) Seriously? Pretty sure this isn't the problem; rather skinny tires and too much low end torque coupled with excellent rpm pickup through the gearing seems to be the likely culprits. Clearly great acceleration from 0-60 and while moving, but it feels like about a 0.5 s lag off the line. Could be the ESP cutting in.

Regarding throttle response, I think we may be miscommunicating. I think the throttle response is so good that 0-60 times suffer a bit unless you have really sticky tires. The key is to overcome the natural traction limitation. But, that means holding back on the throttle when you don't have sticky tires.
There shouldn't be any lag. Turn off traction control and if you give it the full beans or even half the beans, your car will be slipping and sliding. I understand a locking diff can remedy this in large part.
Regardless, I respect your passion for this car. You come across as a true enthusiast.

I agree with your thoughts on throttle response. I'm going to spend some time turning off the traction control and practicing modulating the throttle. Need to find a way to launch this thing better!
I've been into cars since I was a kid, but adult responsibilities put that interest on the back burner for two decades. Now that I'm 44, I decided to get a "fun" car (mid-life crisis?) and wound up with the C63. The car has rekindled my passion for cars to an extent I never imagined would be possible. Just hope that enthusiasm doesn't turn into obsession! My C63 has been in the shop since Saturday, and I've been experiencing serious withdrawal pains.

How did the C63 compare to your Viper? Did you get any track time in either of the two cars?

RATTLES! I've owned cheaper cars (dodge Neons x 2, Saab, Mazda 3 and 5) in the past without any rattles. Quite anoying on a car in that price range. Other than that I agree with all of the mentionned "dislikes".

I hate that my friends 03 350Z rides nicer than my C63, it's ridiculous how rough the ride can get on downtown streets. Also, I get off work at 3am (bartender) so I tend to make a racetrack out of empty toll roads on the way home and i felt way more comfortable doing 130mph in my 335i than in my C. I guess it's that famous BMW steering.

That famous BMW steering has more to do with old folklore than reality. It is like a placebo effect. People hear about the legendary BMW steering and are amazed when they get into it ifollows your dierctions...like any steering wheel does! Automotive experts say that the last 3 series with the amazing steering was the series before your 335i, whatever that was...E36 maybe?
Just like people buy a merc and their comparison to BMW's "steering" is the bank vault feel of the Benzes while that isn't the case as the older Mercs, another folklore story.

I don't know what rattles your talking about, I haven't experienced any as yet.
And I will have owned the car a year come next month.

I don't know if its just me, but I HATE not having an e-brake handle. I guess I have spent so much time driving manual cars that I am use to having one, I am just not too big of a fan of the foot action, hand release E brake.

Some of you will not agree with me. And that's fine, just understand the logic behind my statement. We really can't say, that there are things we all absolutely hate about the C63, as the car wasn't designed for you specifically. It was desgned for the masses, and as such, we will all have gripes about the car. They should have done this or that. But overall the car is sound, it has the comfort, power and handling that we all expect from an AMG. Could the interior material quality be better certainly, but it is the entry level AMG... don't forget. It competes with the likes of BMW M3, Audi S4/RS4 and Lexus IS-F. Take a look at the competition, and you'll agree that the C63 is spot on.
