I traded my beloved S5 for the monstrous c63 4 weeks ago.

For awhile there when I would walk up to my merc I would feel a slight pang of regret...however, my doubts evaporate once I start driving. The car is much more agile and powerful than the S5. The looks are growing on me, even the red calipers. I can't stay out of it. I've already driven 2100 miles

Only installed mod so far are the smoked side markers.
AMG door lock pins en route.

Tint next weekend. I haven't finalized deciding between 15% or 30% (pinnacle.)

Thanks to the forum and the members who responded in impressive detail to my PMs.

Congrats!
I'm not a fan of the red calipers either but I would never regret trading an S5 for the C63. The S5 is also an amazing car but not insane enough - it is too reasonable, too silent and... in some way too perfect.

This is a picture you will see very very often - get used to it (fueling the tank)

dsr, that's actually the car I ordered. After it was ordered I was able to get Barrier to find me an almost identical car at another dealer and get it several months earlier.

The only diff between my car & yours is I have rear side-airbags.

Congrats. You have great taste! :-)

See you around...

I agree with you. The S5 is a very refined car. However, the steering and responsiveness of the S5 is outright sluggish when compared with the C63. That's what sold me on the Merc for now. The S5 feels heavy, leans in the corners, isn't especially responsive. However, when you're rolling it's very smooth and stable and the sound of the engine is deep, throaty and refined. Sonorous acceleration and deceleration. The interior fit/finish/design is top notch, and of course, superior to the Merc. Also, the B&O Sound system is incredible. The Music is incredibly detailed with superb imaging. No distortion. News/talk radio is very clear, sounds like the broadcaster is in the car. The HK system in the c63 isn't bad but not as good as the B&O. Rear camera in the Audi includes trajectory lines and beeps. It's also much clearer and doesn't easily fog up like the C63. All mirrors are autodimming and the brushed "aluminium" mirrors of the audi look and feel expensive. Seats are more comfortable, but not as heavily bolstered, in the Audi as well. I'm nearly 6'5" and the thigh extension in Audi and BMW is nice. Leather quality is better in the Audi. The Audi has a lot of nice details. For example, slide out tray for your ipod, S5 on the key fob (Merc should really have AMG on their key fobs, AMGs are much more expensive than non-AMGs vis-a-vis A5 vs S5), back up mechanical key. But the S5 is a mid-performance level car and performance wise the AMG is vastly superior. The power, responsiveness (steering and engine) is really special in the C63. I love it.

This is a picture you will see very very often - get used to it (fueling the tank)

That was my inspiration.L)

Yep. I considered titling this thread A 2010 C63 AMG P31 Palladium Silver is _ALSO_mine_!

I won't be able to make that event. I haven't ever driven at a track and haven't had any high performance driving instruction. However, the guy at Accutint recommended a 1 day class at Pacific Raceways. I'm looking into that or something like it and hope to start doing some tracking soon. Also, when I get bored with the p31 power 481hp I'm probably going to get a K1 tune. I'll want to dyno before and after and wouldn't mind attending some of your dyno days

I got Pinnacle 30 tint (actually 35% transmission) last weekend.

Really improves the car's look. Sorry I don't have any good pics with the tint yet, i'll get some up soon.

What I like!
Wow, $78grand sticker! What might they be taking off MSRP these days?

Congrats you're going to have fun.

I'm not too sure. I would think you can get significantly under invoice at this point, though there aren't too many 2010 p31s left. Depending on how my trade is valued I paid around invoice. I know I could've done better.

Nice colour and great deal on the car. I don't understand why the M3 cost so much more than our C63 when their horsepower and torque is out of our league.

Enjoy the whip but I can't seem to justify the 78k sticker for a C63.

Drive safe!
