Just called MBUSA... 2011 C63
Just called MBUSA and spoke to Ian - a "product specialist"... who explained that the 2011 C63 will have LEDs on the front (replacing the fogs) and actual LED tail lamps (not just turn signals)... He also stated that the current 6.2L engine will remain until MY2012 which will then receive a 5.4L (not 5.5L) bi-turbo engine and be renamed the C54 or C56.

Im sure the rear LEDs will be plug and play - maybe with a reflash to eliminate errors

So will this count as a facelift? That is, will the interior be updated as well? I'm not doubting what you're saying but I can't believe MB would make such drastic changes on the C without announcing them when the MY2011s are 3 to 4 months from delivery..

Based on the fact that the OP stated that the fogs will be replaced by LEDS seem to imply there is no facelift, just a mere change of parts. I also hope it would be an easy replacement so that we all can get LEDs.
it is good news for us current owners that the more powerful and efficient engine is not being replaced that early because once that happens, be ready to take a hit on the resale value of the car. Assuming the new car will not disappoint in the accoustical feedback department, our little C will not be as much revered.

I'm not trying to start a flame war but it's precisely because the OP stated that the fogs will be replaced by LED that would lead me to think that it could possibly be a facelift? By facelift I don't mean a complete swap of engine but a mid-cycle refresh like what we saw with the recent BMW 3 series coupe update (which basically added LED lights to its front and rear lights along with other "change of parts").

I wouldn't listen to an MBUSA specialist...I've never called MBUSA and had anybody that knew anything credible or tangible...just look at M-BRACE...what a nightmare that is.

1) C63 does not get LEDs for MY11. Other C's do, however
2) Tails do not change
3) The replacement engine for the AMG C-Class is not a bi-turbo, and it will not be badged C54 or C56

different point of views, panzerjagger, no harm on my part. We'll just have to wait and see. Current C63 dates back from 2008 so it could be possible that 2011 models will bring minor facellift but I would think spies would have photographed this already. I just hope that if they do, current owners can retrofit the LED foglights. That would be nice but I am not holding my breath.

It will be revered because it will be (past tense) the largest NA V8 that AMG/MB ever put on a C Class and probably the only time that V8 AMGs will ever share the same engine.

Yeah, I don't know how truthful the guy was at MBUSA... some of it he sounded like he was making it up out of thin air. But hey I just wanted to share what they told me.
Also, if the current generation AMG C-Class does in fact receive the 5.5 engine then it will probably be dubbed the C56 AMG. Think how the C36 changed to the C43... and the C32 changed to the C55... looks like MB is up to their same ol' ways...

For all you know, all those things will happen.
Whats makes you so sure they won't?
No one knows anything until a final production unit is shown.. and until then, you don't need to sound like a dick about it and demean other people with the way you phrase your 'information', of which you haven't provided a source for...
He's just sharing some information..

I'm sorry if I came across like "a dick". I'm just dispelling some incorrect info to prevent misleading potential C63 buyers (and current owners). I wasn't bashing the OP at all, but rather I am disappointed that someone at MBUSA would give false info.

All is well then, I suppose.
The internet doesn't always blatantly reveal it's tone, lol.
Aside from that, that 5.5 Bi-turbo engine would be ludicrous in the C-class platform....... all the more reason to mate those two together!!!

I live for NOW. Whatever the hell comes out tomorrow, I don't even give a Sh*t (for now at least). I just blew my wad on a V8 cranking out over 400hp and gets people chasing me in cars with a thumbs up and sore necks as I pass by.
Lets all start dispelling each other and chatting up a he said she said when some pics and official news comes out from Affalterbach.

Thanks ThreePointRider.
So, I guess the new headlights are only for 2012 C Class.
I'm gonna miss those big round froggy (eyes) fog lights on C63, hope the bumper would still be aggressive.
Btw, did you ask about if there's any interior and new NAV update on 2012 C Class?
LED License plate lights on 2011 C Class?

MB will never replace the naming convention of the AMG cars for the very reason that clueless people associate lower numbers with an inferior product. The model number always needs to go up even if it is a false representation of the engine size.

I am not sure about that one, for instance the W202 AMG C36 came out and then went to a AMG C43 then the W203 model had a AMG C32. I have doubts that MB would have their car badged as a C63 when there is a 5.5tt under the hood.

Most likely from the AMG Private Lounge (you're all members, right?), although YYZ is not 100% correct in his info.
There is ongoing debate about that right now.

not a fans over the LED, like the facelift C class with LED...cant imaging that in my c63.
and it doesnt make sense, y change those parts and after 1 more year there will be a major change of the engine? its not efficient.
